For me, hands down... it's a baby! I find toddlers to be so much easier.
You? Which is harder: a toddler or a baby?

Toddlers - hands down!!
I love the baby stage, they're so much easier to entertain, take places, and they sleep a lot!! haha

Toddlers! I'm pro with babies (not to toot my own horn) but toddlers do and say the most unpredictable things.

LO is 14 months old and compared to when she was, maybe 5 months old, right now it's harder but more fun! I'm more tired now, I think.

For me baby- the sleep deprivation, nursing for hours on end...no amount of discipline compares to that. Then again, LO is still a young toddler, so maybe I will change my mind.

Definitely a baby. Toddlers sleep thru the night, and you can negotiate with them (and, in the worst moments, bribe them with treats!). No matter how much you beg a baby, they won't listen to you...... and the sleep deprivation is just so killer for me.

my toddler is a lot less work than when she was a baby and way less work than her baby sister. The sleep is a big thing for me too, and toddlers are way better at self entertaining.

Toddler like crazy, although the sleeping stuff is nice. The constant MAMA MAMA MAMA and wanting to climb on me all day really grinds me down. But their personalities are so fun that I still prefer this age like crazy.

OMG as someone with a five week old I am so glad most are saying toddler is easier! In my limited baby experience I think babies are harder just because the thing that stresses me out is the lack of communication skills for babies, I don't like guessing! The sleep will also be nice! And though I love my baby, toddlers are just more fun!

I'm thinking toddler, but I guess we will see when L gets a little older!!

I think a baby is much more "work" so in that sense it is much harder. But a toddler is more emotionally draining for me..

I think babyhood is more exhausting and physically challenging but toddlerhood is.a lot more emotionally and psychlogically challenging.

Babies. Even though they sleep a lot and just need cuddles, it is more rewarding to take care of a toddler. I just love talking to DD now and getting feedback. I look forward to her waking up in the mornings to play with her rather than thinking "time to feed the baby again!!".

I agree, baby! sleep deprivation is hard, my baby doesn't sleep! I think a toddler will be much easier, sleeping through the night, being able to eat more things, they can tell you what they want. etc....

It really depends for me. I find that babies are easier depending on their personalities. My youngest is pretty easy unless we're out and we mess up his naps like yesterday. Also, it's hard having to hold him all the time if he doesn't want to sit in his car seat while we're at a restaurant or eating. My toddler is easy in that he can play by himself and walk. The hard part if having him listen to me when I need him to like in a parking lot full of cars. I don't find either one too hard or too easy. I guess that's good?

I think my opinion varies on how bad of a toddler day I am having. I think whatever stage my three boys are in that's the harder one but i think thats because three of them skews my opinion. When they were infants it was so intense I didn't think I would survive to see the toddler years. Now they are three and sometimes three three year olds is really awful. If all of them are having a bad day it is infuriating, My daughter on the other hand was an easy baby. We will see how she is as a toddler.
To be honest the teen years have me a little worried. The thought of three sixteen year old boys and a 14 year old daughter is a little frightening.

From a nanny's perspective, babies are harder. Toddlers are more easily distracted and entertained... once a baby starts crying, sometimes it feels like there is nothing I can do to make it happy again.

On a good day, a toddler is easier. On a bad day, a baby is hands down definitely easier.

Babies are so much harder. I also blame pumping for a year for my lack of sanity. Taking care of a toddler is much more fun.
