DH and I are pretty set on the name Madeleine for a girl (duh .) Which middle name do you prefer? Feel free to make a suggestion.
Oh and my last name begins with "L."

I would definitely pick Louise to honor your grandmother. Plus it sounds really well together! I'm sentimental though.

I like Rose or Jane.
Can't decide how I want to vote. Allow multiple choices, please?

I vote for Louise, because I love names with meaning! (If we have a girl, her middle name will be after my grandmother, too!)

I think they're all nice, but I just wanted to say I love Madeleine!

Louise & Camille are my favs, but honoring your grandma pushed me to pick Louise.

Louise, for sure. Our DD has her great-grandma's name as a middle too.

I picked Rose because it's pretty and avoids a sense of "too many L's"!

I saw Madeleine Rose and was like "That's it!" And I voted. Love that!
But then I saw Louise is your GM's name and you may rather that just because of the family connection:)

Attaching photos with her name printed for reference for you! You won't regret naming her after fam either.

@MrsBeluga: What a coincidence! I think you have totally sold me! Thanks for adding the pics, it's super helpful. And, how funny that you are in Sacramento. I live near Modesto.

Before I read your choices, i said to myself "Madeleine Jane would be good ... And it was an option!

Louise! I love a family tie, and I think Rose as a middle is too common.

Love Madeleine Jane or Madeleine Louise but I also thought Madeleine Grace was really pretty!

I love family names as middle names! My second pick would be Jane.

@simplyfelicity: such a pretty name! I like Jane, but I like the family name more!

I like the sentimental value of Louise, and think it sounds great (plus I've been watching Gilmore Girls and it reminds me of Rory's Chilton "friends" haha)

I saw the post and before I even opened it I thought "Rose" - so obviously that is my choice!

We have a Madeleine Joyce! We chose her middle name to honor my beloved Grandma (she's still living, btw) and have no regrets! I say go for it

I feel like even the fact that you put (After my wonderful grandmother) in the poll means you should go with Louise!

I voted for Louise. I can't say I like Louise all that much as a name but I like that it's after your beloved grandmother so that was my natural vote.
I think Camille is a beautiful name but I don't think it really flows with Madeleine. Rose is pretty as well but I feel like it's the "default" middle name for girls the last few years. What Marie and Anne were 30 years ago. Although Rose is great if it has special meaning.

I would definitely use this as an opportunity to honor your grandmother!
Are you going to find out the gender?
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@My Only Sunshine: That's an excellent point!
@Tidybee: We will definitely find out...but maybe not for #2 because DH thinks it takes away from the excitement to know. I have no idea what that means.
