American brands for aluminum foil (Reynolds) and Saran Wrap. The European versions are definitely inferior!

Heinz, always, sealtest sour cream, pampers, charmin, glad Saran wrap, cloverleaf (generic is SO gross. Can't do it). I mostly buy brand name though since I price match nearly everything.
ETA: oh and OPI.

I'm happy with a lot of Publix or Target Up&Up products, but I will ALWAYS buy Philadelphia cream cheese. I think it's the consistency?

I actually don't think I really get name brand for anything... Almost everything we get is trader joes brand or 365 from whole foods.
Tampons though, I have to have Tampax Pearls. All others are inferior!

@MrsS_Alpha: Oh yesss, all other cream cheese is just super gross and disappointing.

I am so happy to see all the responses for Heinz ketchup! I think DH thinks I'm weird that it has to be Heinz. He doesn't like ketchup so I'm the only one who eats it.
Bounty paper towels. It HAS to be Bounty. I didn't realize how much it mattered until we bought some cheap ones.
Some generic chip brands can be really gross. We had a potluck once and the person who brought chips bought Dollarama brand stuff. It was gross. Tasted like pure butter to me with no flavour or salt.

Natracare tampons
I buy a lot of Trader Joe's brand products, as well as Simply Balanced from Target.
DH insists on name brand Q-Tips. He says the generic ones are too bendy.

@lady baltimore: my dr fully supports your hub's love of name brand q-tips! she says she pulls a lot of cotton swab ends out of people's ears when they use the cheap ones with the plastic stick, the cotton comes off & that it doesn't seem to happen with the real ones. not that she's super in favor of people shoving q-tips way into their ears, but if you're going to, real q-tips are the way to go

@mrs. bird: He'll be thrilled to know he's got doctor approval! LOL One big package of cotton swabs lasts so long, I don't mind paying the extra $1-$2 for name brand.

For sure Peanut Butter, greek yogurt, and cheese (except Trader Joe's). Feminine hygiene products. Toothpaste. I think many things we get name-brand only usually are pretty equivalent with discounts or coupons to generic.

Nothing really is a "must have the name brand" for me, except for Windex. I prefer Tillamook dairy items, but will go with various Organic labels too.
