These are two very different names. What are your goals for a name? What do the two mean to you. The first is a very big name while the second is more simple and evokes Rock Hudson or Hudson Hawk. Neither is better than the other, but it helps to know your goals and any names that you seek to match it with (other sibs, last name etc).

@Mrs. Jacks: I agree they are very different! I'm not overly concerned with it matching my other sons name. Honestly these are just the two names that my husband and I agree on right now. We like names that aren't super popular, but still recognizable as regular names.

I like them both! Do you have a middle name picked out? Cause I think Hudson Zachariah is a good combo for both names!

i like the first one assuming he will go by Zach for short.

I like Hudson better in general, anyway, but the Zachariah is too much of a mouthful, the spelling is trying too hard, it's just too much for me.
Team Hudson!

@Dandelion: I never even thought to combine them lol!
We were thinking Hudson Irving or Zachariah Addison. Both middle names have family sentiments.

@Beyond2: between those two combos I think Hudson Irving is best... butt the other is good too!

@PrincessBaby: how is the spelling trying too hard? I'm curious. Zechariah is a biblical name so it's only different by one letter...and the Puritans used Zachariah as a name.

I like both, but Hudson is pretty popular right now if you are wanting something less common. I know 3 babies named Hudson (one being my nephew!)

@swedishfish: I guess I just think the whole name is too much of a mouthful and trying too hard in all arenas.
ETA: If it works for you go for it!

I don't know why but Zachariah has grown on me, lol, and I actually really like it the more I thought about it!

Zazhariah!
I also like Hudson, but agree that it's becoming very popular right now. My friend was considering it as well, and when we looked it up, it means "son of Hud." If name meanings matter to you, that is a consideration!
