I just put kernels in a bowl in the microwave with a plate on top and pop them that way! But I loved my old school air popper from goodwill back in college

@Mamaof2: yeah! It changed my life, haha. I use a medium sized glass mixing bowl, put about 2-3 TB popping corn kernels in, put a plate on top to keep them from popping out, and then turn the microwave on for 5 minutes (whatever the default power setting is) and stop when they stop popping. You can use oil too I think but I don't. Though I do pour on some melted butter after You can also put it in a paper bag but I didn't want to have little bags around just for that. The bowl get super hot though so be careful.

We have a basic air popper from Target I think, and it works great. Super easy and super yummy! We like to top with just garlic salt or Braggs' liquid aminos and nutritional yeast.

HA! I want a popper as well, but everyone's been saying they're not worth it...I haven't been able to get to the store for kernels, but i have done plain kernels in a sandwich sized brown paper bag, just closed with a small piece of tape. Comes out fine, unless you want to avoid the microwave all together, I do like the suggestion of the bowl!

We have this popper: Presto 04820 PopLite Hot Air Popper, White https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00006IUWA/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_kywlvb1NRBXEZ
Love it! Kernels are super cheap and it's healthier than the bags. We don't have a microwave!

I have the cheapest one from target and I use it often. It works great. The only draw back is that it's tall and heavy and hard to store.

A brown paper bag! I got the idea from here: http://www.100daysofrealfood.com/2011/06/17/recipe-the-popcorn-trick/
Makes super yummy popcorn pretty quickly. And then I just add whatever toppings I want.
