So DH likes the name Jolene and I like the name Claire. I'm wondering if these 2 names can be used together, or not. Our last name is pretty common and is 2 syllables, pluralized.

I think both sound good! But with a two-syllable last name, I'd go with Claire as a first name.

I like Claire a lot.
Jolene will be shortened to "Jo" by her peers.

I just ran Jolene past DH as a potential baby name- I love Jo as a nickname. Do you?

I think Jolene Claire sounds better as a pair, but I much prefer the name Claire so I would do Claire Jolene for that reason. I agree that she might be nicknamed Jo- which I think is cute.

I'm torn. I prefer Claire, but also love the nickname Jo (it's one of my daughter's main nicknames). Either is cute!

Ooooh I love Jolene! Just added it to my baby name list! Love the nicknames Jo and Joey. I love Claire as well, such a classic name. I voted for Jolene Claire.

I think both sound good. I hastily chose Claire Jolene because I thought it follows a bit better. But now, I kind of love how Jolene Claire sounds. It sounds beautifully Southern belle to me.
Add me as another person that loves Jolene!

I think it sounds fine together either way. But I personally wouldn't worry about it too much. How often does someone call a person by their first and middle name anyways. I don't even know the middle name of most of even my closest friends. The only time the middle name comes into play is on legal and school test docs as far as I know!

I think they are both adorable! Which do you want to call her regularly? Or do you plan on calling her by both names?

I think Claire Jolene flows better. Also, with the first name Jolene, I would worry people would sing the song to her all the time!

I think both are lovely. I do strongly associate the name Jolene with the song, so I'd go with Claire as a first name for that reason, just to avoid always hearing reference to the song whenever LO's name is first heard.
