@mrsjyw: We did a Disney cruise when DD had just turned one. It was amazing, and I would choose it over Disney World. I'm excited to take her again now that she's older and will appreciate it more. If you have any questions about it, let me know!

Disney, because taking a baby (or even a toddler) to the beach for a week seems like WORK. Maybe it's because we live near the beach and go often but after a few hours of playing in the sand we're always like "what now?".... I can't imagine what we would do for a whole week at a resort. It always seems to need a lot of parent directed assistance/interaction which I find exhausting. WDW provides the entertainment for you so you can kind of relax a bit more (IMo). Don't get me wrong, i love a good beach vacation, but sans kids so i can park my ass on the sand, reach countless trashy novels, and drink Mai Tais all day
eta : we always go to Disney the first week of March because that's when our break is and the crowds are low and manageable. I've also been in april, August, and December .... I like that first week of March best!

I would save Disney until your second is older- but a cruise or beach sounds lovely!
We took our 1 year old on a cruise and had a great time.

OOOH OOH DISNEY CRUISE! Hands down! We're looking into this for our next vacay.
- Age appropriate activities for both kids
- 'Lazy' time by the pool if you guys want
- Easy peasy food - no going out to restaurants, just let both kids pick what they want from buffet
- Different ports of call every day so you can still see cool stuff/go to the beach etc
- Amazing perks like Disney characters that will come take your kids away during dinner to entertain them so you can sit and eat
- Kids club for the older one (ie free babysitting)
- No having to rent a car/travel anywhere like in PR or VI - ie car seats, no strapping in/getting out
This is like our answer to all our vacation troubles, ha ha. Planning one for next year!

I would do one of the beach vacays. I haven't been to either, so I don't have a preference, but they sound fun!

We're going away in March too, similar options (but shorter flight) and our choices were PR or Bahamas. We chose Bahamas, we're staying at the Atlantis (cheapest rooms) because they've got awesome pools, access to the beach and the aquarium included in the room rate. Plus, we can do excursions.
Our other option was Disney, but that would have been in May.

We priced out cruises for April (between Disney and Royal Caribbean) and went with Liberty of the Seas (Royal Caribbean). Disney is so much more expensive but would be an amazing time for the kids! We will do one when they are older.
On the Liberty of the Seas, they are building a new splash pad and upgrading the ship in Jan/Feb so it will be like new! We are paying for my parents to go with us (their Xmas present) so we wanted to keep costs as low as we could but still go on a high quality cruise line.
