We don't have a microwave, and it would be hard for me to go back to not having a dishwasher.

Microwave, hands down. We almost never use ours. They reheat food so unevenly. I only use the microwave when I absolutely cannot wait for the stove.

We don't have a microwave and I don't miss it. I know they're not healthy, and I have found ways to live without it. I defrost meat in the fridge overnight and thaw in hot water in the sink, and I heat leftovers in the oven or stovetop.

@ElbieKay: Ha! In my head, before I clicked I thought, "Microwave, hands down."
We lived without a microwave for 2 years. It is only handy for re-heating, but our toaster oven is just as good.

Definitely microwave... DH hates me using it anyways (he's a cancer survivor) and oh how I miss our dishwasher!

Microwave - all day long! We hardly use it except for defrosting.

I am confused, what are these health concerns associated wth microwaves? How are they any different from laptops and cellphones?

Microwave. I barely use our microwave so I'd manage without it but my dishwasher is a lifesaver.

Microwave. I NEED the dishwasher during the school year. It's too much to come home, cook, workout, spend time with my daughter, then turn around and wash dishes by hand. No thank you!

Definitely the microwave. I hate doing dishes! We didn't have a dishwasher in the apt I lived in in my 20s and we went through a lot of paper plates...

Microwave. I really don't use it much. I hate washing dishes by hand and couldn't do it every day.

With the amount of dishes/bottles in our house, I cannot even fathom being without our dishwasher. I know that sounds sad, but it would be hard for me. The microwave is just "there" for us; we don't use it all that much.
