I haven't because homemade frosting is so easy to whip up, but it makes sense it would grow some (if not double maybe) because you're whipping air into it.

I've done this and it's totally worth the extra work. You really do (probably) nearly double the amount, it's easier to spread, and I think it tastes better, too because you're not getting so much pure frosting at once.

I never even use the whole can reguarly! But that's really interesting. I'll remember to try that if I ever need a lot!

I don't often use store bought frosting, but I have a cousin that swears by this method.
