My department is doing a white elephant, and the budget is $15. Any suggestions for a gift? The average age in my department is mid-30's.

@DpeachLu: I do like the lottery ticket and movie ticket suggestion. Maybe I can put those in a coffee mug with some coffee and those two items?

Gift cards are always nice because they can be used for just about anyone, and that way a person gets what they want. Gourmet coffee with a nice insulated mug is always a nice gift.

What about a Netflix/redbox gift card with a box of microwave popcorn and some boxes of candy?

I like @DpeachLu's idea of movie tickets. Maybe a Christmas ornament?

@futuremama: Oh! I like this idea too!!! Thanks!! Maybe I'll combine it with the coffee mug idea.
I have feeling this will exceed $15. Such a small budget for work related!! I was expecting $25, but I won't complain about a small budget, just hard to work with!

Since you're not in Seattle, this probably wont be helpful for anything other than a laugh, but its a great one! Every time I need something for a gift exchange, I go to this store: http://www.mcphee.com

@Mrs.Someone: I've driven by this store so many times but have yet to go in. Thanks for the reminder!
I agree with the movie tickets idea. I think you can probably get them at Costco and still come under budget to throw in some popcorn or candy

I usually do little baskets of some sort. The most recent one was a breakfast basket with a small thing of pancake mix, a tiny thing of syrup, a coffee mug, a tiny bag of coffee (from the Dollar Spot at Target), a packet of hot chocolate and a packet of apple cider. If you want you can always include a little mini bottle of Baileys or something like that for the coffee and hot chocolate.

@boiledpnut: Another brilliant idea!!! Thanks!!!
