Yep! I haven't had to much, but there were days here and there -- they don't need to know why... if you have PTO then I think you should use it for when you need to... and not be obligated to disclose what you're doing on your PTO.

I think it's pretty common. I haven't done it but I would. Just don't make a habit of it! There is a woman at my office that must have some sort of chronic disease with all the "doctor's appointments" she is always going to. Though we don't have PTO - it's sick time (which is what you'd use for a doctor's appointment) or vacation time, and we get way more sick time than anyone would reasonably use, so it makes sense why everyone does it.

Omg, yes! Is that bad? I usually tell the truth, I really do. My office is really flexible about that stuff. But sometimes I feel silly taking off for certain reasons so I kinda fudge the truth.
