Does anyone have a white noise machine that they love? We like the sleep sheep (rain sounds are her favorite and it has an option for that) but the sheep is on a timer. So I'm looking for one that will run continuously and has some sort of rain/ocean sound.

We love our Marpac, I prefer the plain noise because the wave/rain sounds actually keep me awake (I anticipate the sounds changing and I can't relax). -
@looch: I agree... the ocean one stresses me out because I'm waiting for the next wave. But LO seems to drift right off to it! I'll check out Marpac, thanks!

We use the dex sound sleeper. It has a timer or runs continuously. It has ocean, wind, rain settings ( a few more, too) . LO uses one in his nursery and we use one in our room too ! We all sleep on the wind setting

We have this one. So far it works great. It stays on all night. My friend has it and still uses it every night with her son., he is 15 months.

We have one similar to this (same brand.) You can either set a timer or have it on til you turn it off. We use it for naps (ocean sound) and it works like a charm.

Have had the sleep sheep since day 1, but I hate the timer and finally got this and love it! It's great that it has a projector and plays music too, which LO loves! It has a timer function, but you can turn it off. Sounds are rain, ocean, and heartbeat, and 3 songs. Also it's pretty cheap.

We have the conair one and it is great and easy to travel with. (bought on amazon)

@MamaMoose: @looch: I agree about the Marpac. We have been using it since 3 months (when she went into her own room) and it has been wonderful. I sat in there one day and could hear everything going on downstairs without it on. As soon as I turned it on, it blocked out all of the noise in the house. It even muffles barking dogs!!

@winniebee: I was just going to recommend this one. We have three of them. One at home, one at my parent's house, and one not opened.
Our LO has just figured out that it's in the crib and has tried to eat it. He also adjusted the sound to "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." We're figuring out how to put it in the crib without him making friends with it.

We have the Graco one too and no complaints here. Every night sounds like a night in the country with crickets and all. Ha. But there are lots of choices!

I agree with Looch- we love our Marpac but it is just white noise, no waves/rain. They are well built and last forever. The one we had in our bedroom before the baby has ran non-stop for almost 3 years. When the baby came we got her one of her own and it has been running ever since.

We have this one and leave it on the waves sound all night for LO. It's very soothing.
