I met Mrs. Bee through her blog. I helped her with a work problem she was having, and she invited me to drinks as a thank you. We really hit it off, and I upgraded drinks to dinner and did my best to sweep her off her feet!
So in a sense, neither of us asked the other out... we worked together to make it possible!

My husband hit on me at a party my freshmen year in college (he was a senior). I had heard about him before because he had quite a reputation as a ladies' man...so I ran away from him.
Fast-forward a few years, when he stuck around the area after school and it was my senior year. We became friends through mutual friends, and then best friends. He would always joke about getting together, and while I brushed it off, he says that he was always interested in me. I guess his jokes paid off, because when he finally did make the first move, I didn't resist, and it felt natural.
So to answer the question, he did the pursuing, and I didn't even consider him as more than a friend until the night of our first kiss.

I'm glad I did because after we had been dating for a while, he told me that he never made the first move because he didn't want to seem scary.

We spent what was supposed to be an innocent weekend at the beach with mutual friends. We really hit it off. I was living in NY at the time, but came home for the beach trip. I was only in town for another day after the beach weekend so, I called him the next day and asked him out. Best phone call I ever made.

We met at my first real-life job out of college. He was in management and it was a major NO-NO on his part. But, one night after happy hour drinks with some other co-workers, he asked me out to a dinner/movie the following day. I was hesitant at first because one of the other girls in the office had a small crush on him and I didn't want to hurt her feelings. But I bit the bullet and said yes and the rest is history! [And yes, the other girl is now one of our closest friends, and we all laugh about the beginning years!]

Hubs and I met in college and were partners on a project for a few weeks, so we really started to get to know each other then and became friends, but I would say that I'm the one that asked him, since I was the one to initiate getting dinner together and hanging out outside of class.

We were the platonic-est of all platonic friends. Buddies, really. We hung out in coffee shops, read books in book stores, and never considered each other as potential partners (mostly on my part because he is 3 years younger than I am). But after years of being just friends, he made the first move one night after casually discussing the idea of dating each other. I told him not to pursue me in that way. He kissed me. We were in college, and auditioned for the same community theater together. We both got parts but he didn't have a car and all of the rehearsals were off campus, so we hung out that way. We spent over a year just hanging out and one night (after an opening night) he told me that he really enjoyed being friends, but...(longest moment ever!) he wanted more. We started dating, he proposed 19 months later, and we were married 13 months after that. We were each other's first relationship, first kiss, all that.

After a very long and complicated back and forth of becoming friends, Wagon Sr. took me out to dinner and asked me if I wanted to see "where God would take our relationship". So technically he never asked me out. Haha!

I remember thinking, on the night I met him, that there was something special about this boy and I was going to be with him forever.

Well, we met at temple and then he facebook friended and messaged me. We talked for about a month online, and he did ask me to go out.... he was the president of the alumni association for his college, which is my rival college. So I said no thanks, lol. He should have known better though! Then I asked him if he wanted to hang out, and we met for dinner on the beach.

I was MOH and he's the bride's cousin. He was showing off his moves on the dance floor and I walked up and danced with him. Later, he stole my drink and held it over my head so I kissed him trying to distract him and the rest is history.

We randomly reconnected on the street while both out grabbing coffee/lunch, and I asked him how his book was coming, etc. Jut chit chatted. I was recently out of a relationship and feeling very "girl power" so as soon as I got back to my office I sent him an email asking if he would like to go grab drinks sometime. He responded back yes, and we went out a few days later. Been inseparable since!

DH and I met in high school and went on one date then (he asked me out) but we never really hit it off. Years later, after university, we ran into each other at a downtown patio/bar. We chatted for a bit and he somehow got his buddy to ask for my number. He was too shy to do it himself. He did end up calling me though a couple days later and asked me out.

I guess he technically did. We met through mutual friends one night, and a few weeks later he was at the beach (also with our friends). He texted me that he was bored & asked me to come down. So I left work early, drove to virginia beach, and he took me out on our first official date!
Now we are married & our other friends (who came down after I arrived!) are married too!

I asked out DH. We had been good friends for several months until one day I looked at him and BAM, it just hit me. He's kind of reserved and I didn't want to put him on the spot, so I emailed him. He always answered my emails right away, but I was waiting around for hours for a reply to this one (assuming he was trying to let me down easy). Turns out a friend had come into town that night and they went to a show. Anyway, he replied the next day with a yes answer. He always says he was glad I made the first move.

So we went to the same high school. He asked me out in the 10th grade and I turned him down for another guy. Fast foraward 2 years later and I was freshly broken up with said other guy and he ran into me at work. He kept popping by every day to pick something up for his moms dog (I worked in a pet store). After like 10 days of this I finally said, "Here is my number, call me if you want to go out". He made me wait 3 whole days (jerk!). That was just over 10 years ago.
