@TheReelDeal: @Dandelion: It wasn't too hard. We don't see our parents all that often, so it was okay. We did see both Hubs' parents when we were pregnant and not telling anyone. Hubs' mom tried to pressure me into having babies, so that made it easy NOT to tell her, because I was feeling annoyed, haha. And Hubs' dad and step-mom probably guessed I was pregnant because I wasn't drinking and I usually have a glass of wine at their place. But they didn't ask and I just didn't tell. Plus, I was more scared of telling them and then having a miscarriage, so that fear kind of fueled me and kept me from spilling the beans. PLUS I really wanted to tell them by giving them a picture of the 12-week ultrasound, so having something to look forward to helped!

@Dandelion: Also, I had told my best friend early (4 weeks), so I did have SOMEONE to talk to about it. Plus I could talk about it on Hellobee. Having someone and somewhere to talk about my pregnancy and hopes and fears made it a LOT easier to keep it to myself when around other people. The hardest thing is probably if you normally drink and then don't. I had one annoying friend keep joking around and saying that I was pregnant, and that was really annoying to be around since we weren't sharing the news with people yet.

@Adira: I think after telling DH, I'll only be saying it on HB...and only in Gold! I even think that I won't put an official announcement on FB. Just tell my family when I feel ready and let the news spread itself.

I only told HB about my loss during the first week. I had to wait to say something on FB to most of my friends, because I was waiting on my extremely large family to all find out, so that they wouldn't find out on FB. But, HB was a good outlet.

@Adira: Yep, I'd be mad about that. It's sad that these days your have to say a "no FB" disclaimer when giving news. I had to do it when I lost S.

@Dandelion: Ugh, seriously. I only found out about them posting on FB because my BFF is friends with a couple of my in-laws and so she saw the posts! She told me about it, and then I sent an e-mail to them from the hospital saying "By the way, please don't post on FB! I want to make sure I tell my family and friends myself!" My SIL was good and took her post down and apologized, but my SMIL was just like "Sorry, too late!" and didn't take down her post. She wasn't even sorry either - she was joking about it! Ugh, some people suck!

For LO it was DH, his parents, my family (parents and siblings, then his siblings.

For #2 it was DH, my parents, his parents, his brother, my sister, then my brother.

I told DH, then we kept it to ourselves until 9 weeks, when we told his parents (they were visiting, so we couldn't not tell them!). We waited until 12 weeks (after we heard the heartbeat) before telling anyone else.
