@mrsjazz: been here 30 minutes now and this line is crazy! Wasn't nearly as bad in the East Village in 2008. Then again, I am happy so many are voting!

@ms.janedoe: did I know this?!? I don't think I did where in MN? I'm 20 mins north of Maple Grove.

@Coco Bee: Ooooh, girl, I don't think you did! I didn't know you were an MN girl either! I'm right out of New Brighton.

@ms.janedoe: oh that's not too far! how funny :):) I think the only other MN girl here is @volksgirl and she is in the cities I think.

@Coco Bee: I lived up in Monticello, MN until the end of June. : )

I wanted to vote but my registration was messed up. Between moving and having a baby I completely forgot until it was too late. The place I would vote is always like 80% Republican anyway.

I wish I could vote but I'm not a citizen yet! Hopefully I will be able to vote in 2020!

@Coco Bee: We lived right near the nuclear plant there since that's where my husband worked (and why we moved there).

ETA: And my doctor was in Maple Grove!

I wish I could have voted but the registration deadline for absentee (given that I'm overseas6 was super early and I missed it. :-(. Fortunately, I'm from a state that is heavily blue so my Obama vote would only have strengthened his win there!

As a side note, voting is compulsory in Australia in every election - even little local elections. If you don't vote, expect a $100 fine arriving in the mail! I think it's a brilliant idea....

I just cast my vote for Obama - but in California its not like it matters because we will most definitely be a Blue state. I care more about the props, especially since CA is over $16 billion in debt!

I am still registered under my maiden name... and I brought a marriage certificate, so I was really surprised they didn't need to see my ID or verify my address! What if someone else goes in and claims to be me?

This is the first time I've voted in person... usually I do absentee ballot. It was thrilling.

I'd vote for obama if I could but I'm not in the US/american. But I'm always excited to watch presidential elections

@runsyellowlites: Try it! I didn't realize I never re-registered under my married name. I was still able to vote, though!

@Ree723: The absentee ballot ruined it for me too.

This would have been my first time voting but I was mistaken on what I needed to do for an absentee ballot. Bummer. My vote would have contributed to the majority in my home state.

I nursed my way through the voting process and let the 5 year old cast my vote. He announced "there it is! The O I was looking for!" You could hear all the giggles in the gymnasium.

I was all pumped to get my absentee ballot and skip going in person but it never came! So I showed up anyways (had to show ID, booo Kansas) and filled out a 'provisional' ballot that will count as long as my mystery missing ballot never gets returned (uhh hope it doesnt!). But at least baby participated in voting!

@mrbee: if you were born to american citizens, doesn't that still make you eligible since you're still a "natural born citizen"? john mccain was born in panama, although he was born on a military base.

I voted today! And sadly, my stupid county gives a piece of paper, not a sticker, that says "I voted today" - how lame is that?! Obama over here, living in his home state...

@FriedBabyMama: At least you actually get to feel like you "did" something. We vote by mail...totally not exciting. And of course that means, no sticker.
