My husband usually does all our laundry too! Once in a while I'll do it

I do all of it. I'm home the most, and it's the one chore DH really hates to do!

I do all of our laundry. DH used to do it on occasion, but then he accidentally shrunk a bunch of my stuff (I air dry a lot of my clothes, he didn't know any better- threw stuff in the dryer and whoops). I don't mind doing laundry, as long as he carries the really heavy baskets upstairs for me

I do all the laundry, but DH will help with the folding because he knows that's the part I hate.

I do my laundry as well as DS's and household, and DH does his own laundry. He will do some household laundry if I ask him to.

I do it all / I'm too picky about how things are folded to leave the job for DH

Nice! I do all of our laundry b/c I think my husband will ruin my clothes. LOL! He probably won't pay much attention to what should and shouldn't go in the whites or darks or in the dryer. He has other responsibilities so it's okay that he doesn't do the laundry.

Me! I actually like doing laundry!! DH seems to shrink things and put colours in with whites!! Eeek.
grapefruit / 4120 posts
My husband. He gets sort of annoyed when I do it! He thinks I use too much soap. I don't mind though!

I do all the laundry. It's one of my favorite chores (except the folding part) so I don't mind
nectarine / 2063 posts
@erwoo that's the way I felt before & it was true! I always busted him mixing colors & whites (even jeans w/whites!). He took this on himself, he knows i hate going doing laundry in the dungeon! After a few months of him doing it he started taking more pride in his chore. All I have to do is remake the bed and put my clothes away

I'm a SAHM so I do most of it. Makes more sense since I"m home all day. He will help out over the weekend or if I'm not feeling well though.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
Pretty much I do it all. He will do a load if I ask him if I am out. But I have to sort everything first, otherwise he dries things that shouldn't be dried.

We both do it! He only does it if he is running out of scrubs or if the diaper pail is overflowing!
GOLD / watermelon / 14076 posts
We both do it. DH usually unloads/loads the washer & dryer and then we both fold...it goes pretty quickly when we do it that way!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Hubs usually does his own laundry (and sometimes some of mine), and I usually do the sheets, towels, and the rest of my laundry. Though I suspect we'll have to get a little more organized once the baby is here and do laundry more often than we currently do it, haha.
pomelo / 5789 posts
We usually do it together. He hates the way I fold (he's a perfectionist) So I get it done, and then he folds everything.

I do my laundry, and DH does his. He claims that I don't match his socks correctly. **eye roll** If I had a choice, I would never do laundry. I hate it. He does his weekly. I do mine when I'm running out of underwear. LOL! If there are sheets and towels to be done, one of us usually gets to it.

My husband definitely does it more often then I do, but he needs clothes more often then me with his job. For every 4 washes I probably do 1 of them. Laundry is on our floor in our apartment building. I cannot wait to have it in our condo.

I think it is about 50/50. If he's doing a load of his clothes he'll throw in whatever of mine is the same colors, and I do the same when I'm washing mine.
I have a feeling I'll be doing more of the diaper laundry though, but we'll see.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
We each do our own, and whoever is doing a load will do towels. I can't wait to have laundry on the same floor as the rest of the house. Somehow, it's such a pain to go downstairs.
kiwi / 629 posts
It's 50/50 for us... as in I put the laundry in and then he ends up folding it because otherwise it would sit in the dryer for days.

I do all of it, but DH takes his own things to the dry cleaner. Also, if I've gotten way behind, he'll take a huge, giant load to the laundromat and wash/dry/sort all of it. And then I hang up/put away when he brings it home.
kiwi / 733 posts
We both do it, since it usually gets done over the weekend when we're both home, we may take turns going down to the basement to move a load washer to dryer or pull it out, and them throw it all on the bed to fold together.
pomegranate / 3809 posts
I drag it down and throw it in the wash and dryer and back up. He helps sort and fold.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
99% me. Hubby's assistance would be loading the washer or transferring from washer to dryer. He never unloads the dryer nor fold clothes unless he's in dire need of an article of clothing.

I'm the laundry girl here. Sometimes I get hubby to carry it up to the bedrooms though when he's home. I hate putting it away.
pomelo / 5331 posts
I separate the loads and he runs them down to the w/d, does the loads, brings them up. Then I fold and put away. Our w/d is in our garage and down a long flight of concrete stairs. No thanks, and he agrees.

I do all of it...now that we have a w/d in our apartment, I really don't mind though! I find folding laundry to be especially relaxing
nectarine / 2063 posts
@prettylizy I hate putting it away too! He folds it & puts it back in my hamper to be put away. It usually gets put away about the time I have a pile of clothes on the floor that is starting to get in the way. By then I have to put them away. On the plus side there is only half as much to do cause the rest is already dirty again
nectarine / 2631 posts
Me! Except now I can at least guilt my DH into carrying it down the the basement and back up to our bedroom! I am pretty terrible about putting it away though! Once the laundry baskets take over our rooom i out them away in one big cleanfest!

I do it all. I even managed to set back my recovery by doing (carrying) laundry the first week home. DH did most of it (although I folded it and put it away) for a week or two after that but now that I'm almost fully recovered and almost a month pp I am back to doing the laundry..
