This came up in another thread, so I thought I'd break it out here.
I will never forget in the Sopranos when Meadow Soprano was playing Jackie Jr in Scrabble, and he played three-letter words like "ass," poo," and "the." Then she played "oblique" and he said, "No Spanish!"

Ugh. My husband. He ALWAYS wins. It drives me crazy, because I'm really good! I just happened to marry someone who is also really good.

My husband always kicks my butt at Scrabble! It's always humbling for me to play because I'm a writer and an English nerd and sometimes assume that I should totally rule at that game...but it kicks me off my high horse pretty quickly.

Just like in tennis, we're evenly matched and it can go either way. For a long time on Words With Friends, the only person that could beat me was my then-boyfriend-now husband. I'm pretty sure THAT, and the fact that he solved a rubix cube fully in about 12 minutes on our second date, is why I married him.

Oh my, FI by a longshot, although I've gotten better by playing with him. He is so defensive and patient with his play, it is frustrating!

Hubby every time! He's a strategic player, working out where to place certain letters so that he gets bigger scores and trying not to leave gaps for me to play my words. I never beat him!

Me, my husband takes forever on his turn and then will play a word like "cat". He's also awful at spelling too which makes the game hard for him.

Me by far, DH doesn't know how to play the board right! He goes for the biggest letter word instead of the smartest move.

Me. DH only plays with me if I bug him about it. He always wins at ping pong though.

Yeahhhh my DH kicks my butt. He spends at least 5 minutes a turn, and then comes up with something ridiculous, and by that time I'm so annoyed that I can't think of a good word. And I'm a huuge book nerd! I have a big vocabulary! But he beats me every time

I'm the English Major/English teacher, but he kills me at Scrabble. It drives me nuts! He's excellent at the strategy part of it. I just like to play the best word I can make. We usually end up fighting. : )
