DH takes the cake here! Before LO, I would say it was equal but I just don't care as much anymore. I still enjoy working but I don't bring stuff home and don't worry about work tasks like I did before.

DH! My career had to take a backseat since DH is the breadwinner.

My husband definitely. He loves being a teacher, even though it kicks his butt, it's his dream job.

DH. He's the finance guy, makes more, and works harder at it for sure. I kind of bounced around a little before settling into my current career, which I like, but always planned on leaving when we had kids. Hopefully I'll find something I'm more passionate about when I got back to work.

Me, by far. We're toying with the idea of having Mr. Jacks go back to being a SAHD after working a year at his new job.

I'd say we're pretty equal, but since LO, I've put my career on hold temporarily to be a SAHM.

Ha, neither! We work because we have to. We do love our field, but would both rather be more freelance and have freedom to travel and spend time with family.

DH. I like what I do and definitely care about it, but I prefer more of a work-life balance. DH just started a new position today that is a great move for him in terms of his career, but should actually lead to better balance and more time together!

When we moved, I took a job in a slightly different area of my field, and I don't love it the way that I used to... the jobs that I had for my first 5 or so years out of college were really kind of life-consuming and life-defining in a good way, and it was awesome... during that time DH was a grad student, and while he was clearly into his field, he got pretty overwhelmed trying to finish up his dissertation and think about a career in academia. He ended up not going into academia, and instead works for the DoD and he LOVES it and is totally thriving and getting great recognition and it's generally wonderful and he'll be there for the rest of his career. I hope to eventually switch back to something more fulfilling, but my current job is also very stable and family-friendly, so it's hard to think about giving that up.

Definitely Wagon Sr. I like my job and I love where I work, but I work to bring home money. Wagon Sr. is really passionate about his work (and his studying to gain degrees to help him in his field) and we're hoping some day he can obtain a PhD in his field and teach in grad school.

So far, definitely me. I don't know if that will change once our LO is here, but I suspect it won't. We'll both continue to work full time and I'm currently working on getting promoted, so I think I'm more into my career that Hubs is. To him, his job is more just a job, not a career.

We both are and have been rewarded for our effort. He puts in at least twice as many hours than I have to, but that's just the nature of his job.

We're equal. Neither of us are careerists/ladder climbers, but we are pretty obsessive about our work and earning money from our interests.

Me! I own my own business, so I have to care way more. DH doesn't love his job (but he is the primary bread winner), but sticks it out because it's got decent pay...

Hands down DH. I work cause I have too but I don't love my job. And really don't know what I want to do when I grow up. Really at almost 34, I should figure this out.

He works harder (and makes more money as a result) - he's in sales - but I like my job more.

Hubby loves his job even though it's manual labor. He loves catching up with customers and politicking with the politicians.
I do my job because I need to. I'm not in love with it.

I'm a sahm so very obviously him. I had no problem leaving.

DH is more passionate about his job then I am. He thrives at work and is always looking for new ways to do what he does better. Im good at what I do and enjoy it but I really want to be a SAHM.

Me, but only because I want to get my student loans paid off! Then I'm retiring!
I wish.

I'd say DH. I like my job, but I kind of fell into my career path on accident and it's not what I want to be doing in 20 years. DH really likes his job, but I'd say we're definitely both the "work to live" type not "live to work."
