I forgot-- I answered the phone and spoke to Jamie Lynn Sigler from the Sopranos, and Robert DeNiro. But it was like, who's calling? Please hold. We are besties now.

I used to work at a clothing store and helped Melissa Rycroft (from the Bachelor/Dancing w/the Stars? I think that's right) w/some stuff...I had no idea who she was, though--someone told me after she and her fiance left the store
Same thing happened with Kelli Finglass (coach of the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders--she's on that reality show where they select the squad). I sold her a pair of jeans and after she left someone said "don't you know who that is?" and I had no idea.

@mrbee: I actually dont watch the show, only a few episodes to see what it was all about. But he was definitely a huge goofball and could always make you laugh.

@lawbee11: that would be so fun!!
I met Adam Lambert at a restaurant in NYC. I was with some friends who have the craziest ability to meet celebs; only 2 months later they met Jessica Lowndes at JFK!

Tina Fey at a local prenatal yoga class in NYC. We were both pregnant with #2 around the same time. She was just two mats away from me!

I'm too embarrassed to say 'hi' but I've seen some good celebs up close! Bruce Springsteen, Britney Spears (and her mom!) Madonna, and my personal fave - Prince Charles!

I've met bill Clinton several times; he's a close friend of my uncle; so we've had private family lunches together several times, and I actually had dinner with him on my 21st birthday! Interestingly enough, im also connected to him through my husband's family: my step-brother in-law was his attorney during the impeachment (and was Obama's chief white house counsel for several years.)
Runner up is probably John Mayer. He bought me and my friend drinks at the Skybar in Hollywood many moons ago.

Brett and Jermaine from Flight of the Concords, lol. Oh, and I met James Cameron and Peter Jackson that same night.
My hubs had Ian McKellen come sit at his desk, and ask what he does for work. I was jealous!

@Coco Bee: Is Jessica Lowndes the one on 90210?? I love that show...and I am embarrassed by how many "guilty pleasure" shows I have admitted to watching on HB!

Was literally standing next to Josh Harnett at a bar in LA. But it was so dark inside and he was wearing glasses and a beanie, so I totally didn't know it was him until an overly-eager fan pushed me away so take a pic with him. I don't think he wanted to be spotted because he bolted for the exit after that photo.

No one extremely famous, but I've met a few people that I consider celebrities.
Adam Savage, from Mythbusters. He came into Taco Bell when I was working there a few years ago and I asked him "Um, are you...?" and he said "Yep." That was about the extent of our conversation, except me taking his order.
Aldis Hodge (he plays Hardison on Leverage, I think he was also on Friday Night Lights). I met him in Vienna airport in Austria. I was so thrilled to tell DH, because we're big fans of Leverage.
Also former President Bush Sr., but I was a baby so I don't think that counts.

Met Sylvester Stallone in Japan while shopping and Jackie Chan bc he's family friends with my aunt.

@NYCaliMama: that is awesome! I love her!
I met Justin Timberlake a while back. He came into the bar I was working at with a bunch of guys in suits and his mom! He wasn't even 21 yet (this is back in the Britney nsync days!) but we served him jack & cokes all night. He was very nice to me - meanish to girls in the bar that realized it was him -- and he left a HUgE tip!!
I was also at dinner a couple years ago in Boston and Kate Hudson was eating a the table next to me! She is so gorgeous in person and seemed so nice!

I can't believe you guys have met so many famous people, I've never met anyone famous but I guess that's what you get when you live in Belgium - ooh, I'm lying, I shook hands with our King once when I was a child.

I met Steven Tyler in 2004, but he's from the area so a lot of people have met him. I was working at an order at the counter type restaurant and he just walked in, leaned on the counter and said "so, what's your favorite thing to eat here? What should I order?". He was very down to earth. I also met Paul Guilfoyle from CSI when I worked at a fish market. I kept looking at him wondering why he was so familiar and after he paid and right before he left he said "So, you ever watch CSI?". It was sort of lane the way he did that. Joe Kennedy used to come into that same market and buy fish all the time.

When I worked at the Gap in high school I rang up Nancy Kerrigan. She's from the area but I did NOT recognize her. All I thought was "oh wow, that lady is so tiny and pretty." Then after she left someone told me it was her. We dug up the CC slip and there it was, her signature! I was totally blown away because I was such a huge fan of hers. She looks so tall on TV but in real life she can't be more than 5'3"!!! and she was SOOOO tiny and skinny, and has really pretty sparkling blue eyes.
At a valentine's dinner at L'espalier we sat two tables away from Mayor Menino and his wife... haha. There was a maitre d standing in front of their table the entire meal!
Carrie Underwood touched my hand at a concert we went to...
and we saw Blake Lewis (runner up to Jordin Sparks on American Idol) play at a bar near our place and I met him and took a picture with him after it was over.
My list is SO lame.

@mrs. wagon: Oooh, I didn't speak to her but I shared an elevator with Carrie Underwood at a hotel in Seattle! She is so pretty!

@autumnlove: OMG I WOULD DIE!!! I absolutely love her. I voted for her like crazy on American Idol (and I never vote for those shows!) and I saw her in concert every time she came to MA. I stopped at the last tour because of $$.. I sat front row twice and now I'm spoiled!!

@mrs. wagon: ooh - l'espalier! Fancy! Ate there once, it was uh-mazing! Just go to Neptune oyster and you will see someone famous! Friend owns it - Leonardo dicaprio ate there 3 nights in a row and no one recognized him.... Ben affleck, Ryan Reynolds, al Pacino have all been there! To name a few...And that's where I saw Kate Hudson... Celeb central!
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
@hellobeeboston: We'll definitely have to check out Neptune Oyster just for the celeb sightings!! It'll make my list 100x cooler from just one night probably I would dieeee to see Ben Affleck or Ryan Reynolds!!! and I love Kate Hudson... Wagon Sr. is a HUGE Muse fan so if we ever saw the two of them together (with their son) we'd both die!!!!

My husband's parents live in LA. We love this one cafe that apparently lots of stars do, too. Ended up eating lunch next to Tiffany Thiessen. She was just pregnant at the time - I think she announced right after. Was so, so nice. Funny because I turned to my husband to say that the girl over there looked a lot like her, and another woman at a different table said yup, it's her.
I've also met Dar Williams, Adam Carolla and various authors.
