We are taking two flights and a shuttle each way to visit DW's family in North Carolina. DS turns one the day we leave 
. Our plan as of now is those snack containers that make him work to get out a single goldfish!!!

We aren't traveling until January for my sister's wedding but I've already started thinking about (dreading) the plane rides. So far, I plan on bringing blue painters tape (got that suggestion on a travel forum), a sticker book, a small car and a couple of favorite books. I'm going to put it a zippered packing cube and I figured he might like zipping and unzipping that. Oh, and my iphone as a last resort.

We are leaving Friday morning and coming back Sunday morning. Not worth the drive in my opinion but oh well. I'm not concerned about her at all. My concern is me being almost 34 weeks pregnant and not being able to drink water or we will have to stop to pee every 30 mins. And there aren't bathrooms the whole way.

Traveling the day before Thanksgiving to Texas by plane. He's almost 3, so it's easier now, but we bring the following:
- puffy stickers and let him "decorate" the window or tray table (those stickers come off easy)
- Tablet. We save it solely for trips and he gets super excited and absorbed in the games we have on it.
- Memory match game. He likes the shapes and colors and we make several games out of the cards.

Mine are older, 5 and 3, so iPad is where it's at. 5-hour drive and they probably wish it were longer, lol.

@Smurfette: ugh that sounds miserable; I'm sorry. I was the exact same in the third trimester.

We are driving 4 hours on Tuesday and coming back Sunday. I think ipad will be our BFF (she's 2.5).

We are! Flying to FL Sunday evening, home Saturday morning. Not too worried about D (3y) - bringing the tablet with Finding Dory plus 2 magnetic games I found in the dollar bin at Target. Super nervous about A (9m). She doesn't sit still patiently and is VERY vocal when unhappy. The flight down is right at bedtime, so I'm hoping I can just nurse her to sleep. Otherwise, I'm bringing lots of puffs. And possibly earplugs for our neighbors.

We have this magnet board that we bring with to restaurants and it's usually a huge hit. He likes to open and close the doors and it's challenging to get the magnets on and off. We will probably bring that as well

4 year old with a flight (and layover) to Florida. I am bringing out new toys. A lego suitcase that she has been drooling over and some Shopkins. We will also take coloring books and crayons/washable markers.

We're flying tonight! And then back the sunday after. Tonight's flight is right around bedtime, so she's either going to crash or be a total mess....I have art materials and an ipad packed, and it's a short flight (~1hr-90 mins) so I'm keeping my fingers crossed but expecting it to be rough!

@wrkbrk flying with our (will be) 15 month old Wednesday-Tuesday (1 flight each way). We will also be flying a month later at Christmas, which will be 2 flights each way plus a 3 hour drive each way
FYI we have those little snack cups, my DS loves them and he can pull out 1-2 cheerios at a time, the problem is when he gets his hand in there and then pulls it out, about 6 cheerios go flying on the floor for every one he puts in his mouth, so it's kind of a mess!
I'm very nervous. He's flown a few times before and it was okay, but that was pre-walking. Now, he wants to RUN and he is very active and does the limp noodle + screaming move if I try to hold him when he wants to GO. going to be fun on the plane... sigh. He's not really into screen time or anything yet, although I have some stuff on my phone to try.
Honestly I am expecting the worst and really dreading both trips!

How did it go for everyone?
It wasn't that bad at all. We flew on Thanksgiving morning and there were zero delays, no one on the road either.
Then on Saturday, when we came home, again, no issue.

Thanksgiving day flight was fine.
The return on Monday had a two hour delay making me late for graduate class that night. The flight attendant also made us turn around the car seat so that it was forward facing. We have a complaint into the airline about that.
