We both pay bills and he does the taxes. I'll admit, the one thing I have never done by myself is my taxes. My Dad did them until my husband and I started living together then he started doing them.

I pay the bills because DH never remembers. He does our taxes because tax returns excite him lol!

DH pays the bills and manages our money. I prepare the tax return. I'm a tax manager, so it makes sense that I prepare the return. We are both CPAs.

He pays the mortgage and car note and does the taxes. I pay the other bills and deal with our vendors.

We both pay (different) bills -- he does most of them but I took over one in particular that was important to me... our condo fees! We both do taxes... he does the Mexican ones (or, rather, delegates to someone else), and I do my US ones.

Bills are on autopay and divided between us. I'm our tax person, but this year we hired someone.

But if you mean who keeps track of expenses, he keeps track of our personal stuff, I keep track of my company's stuff (which the CPA does it altogether in the tax season).

We both pay the bills & I do the taxes. I always did my own taxes myself before getting married & DH had never needed to file before (he battles cancer in his late teen years & then did a 2 year church internahip) so it just made sense that I do them.

Our accountant does our personal and business taxes. I do bills.

Our taxes are taken automatically out of our wages so this isn't something we have to physically do.

As for the bills, I do most of them. When we first moved in together, DH moved into my house so all my direct debits were already set up. We've just kept it that way, even when we bought our first house together - I pay the bills then we live off the money DH earns all month. DH deals with a select few - the internet, the TV package, the phones and the contents/buildings insurances.

We split the bills according to who makes the most money, so my husband pays the phone bill and 2/3 of the mortgage, and I pay 1/3 of the mortgage, cable/internet, milk delivery, and utilities. We are responsible for our respective credit card balances. We take our taxes to H&R Block.

DH does both of those things. I've never been very good with the financial side of daily life and DH has a much better handle of our budget. I deposit part of my paycheck into his checking and then all bills get paid from there except for my specific costs and other items that I am in charge of (incl. my car, car insurance, cable, our health insurance).

DH does the bills, we have an accountant do the taxes.

@Cherrybee: but what about your annual taxes?

I lived on my own looong before DH ever did, so I pretty much do it all (joint account though, so we are both paying). He will watch as I do the taxes, but I think he's scared of messing something up.

I do both (although we hired a tax person this year, I plan to start doing them again next year). I actually really like doing my taxes and I'm much better with the finances than DH is, so I don't mind doing both.
