The daughter of a friend told her mom that she never said I love you to her first, even though the daughter did.

I'm totally guilty of this, but I'm generally not an expressive person, which is also largely cultural (I never heard I love you growing up). Olive says it all the time and I say it back, but I need to step up my game and say it first.
