You or your SO?
DH is soooooooooooo slow! He is very easily distracted. So him + a 3 year old = takes 30 min to get her dressed and teeth brushed in the mornings. Why????? It takes me 5 minutes.

I dunno, we're both slow as molasses these days. My son is a staller.

@looch: I think kids start perfecting the art of stalling around 2?

DH is slower and he can't multitask when he's doing thing with M. If I say "could you get her dressed while I shower?" that's all he does. It just does not occur to him to start on the dishes in the sink or start packing the car if we're going somewhere. I have to be very.specific. Oy.

@Andrea: I think you're right. Last night the stalling was ridiculous and i had to threaten no reading books before bed. I was kind of stunned that the words were coming out of my mouth, but there was literally nothing else I could "take away" to get him in the fracking bath tub last night.
Gah, if you have other suggestions, let me know...not the point of this thread, i know, lol.

DH for sure, they always end up playing instead of doing what they are supposed too. His excuse "but she's just so cute when she does..."

This reminds me of one of the MythBusters women vs men challenges - the ladies sailed through the multi-tasking challenge, they were feeding/dressing/holding the pretend baby and doing all sorts of things at the same time.
The guys would pick up baby, put down baby, make breakfast, pick up baby, put down baby, iron a shirt.
It was actually hilarious to watch.

@looch: Is that wrong? Ok ok, I know it probably is, but I end up saying the same thing when she starts acting all out of control! I figure that I am teaching her some sort of consequence for misbehaving?

@jillybean218: I saw that!! It was really hilarious and mind boggling that the guys kept putting the baby down. LOL!!

DH is much slower. He also can't multitask...we were in a store with narrow aisles and another stroller came down our aisle so I asked DH to take the stroller out. His response? "But I'm carrying groceries." He had one bag of groceries. I just looked at him

Probably me because I'm trying to teach our 19 month old to be self-sufficient. I let him stumble with the fork and spoon where DH would just try to spoon feed him to get it done with. I'll hold his hand and walk down the stairs with him, DH would just carry him all the time. I let him take his time in the bath to enjoy it and play. DH is more like, wash hair & body & get out.
I hustle when we need to though!

@mrbee: You know, good question! My SIL was telling me that her SIL uses bribes to get her daughter to stay in bed. They have this giant stuffed dog that they let her keep in the room if she stays in the bed, otherwise the dog has to leave.
I just don't know what I would offer up as a bribe.

@looch: it could even just be a fun bath toy that he can only play with in the tub!! Or you could give gummi vitamins at bath time...

@jillybean218: I didn't see that one. I have no problem believing it though!
