Our outdoor steps need to be completely replaced. They're brick/omnistone.
Who does this kind of work? Landscapers? Construction?
I have no clue what I'm doing but it's time to get some quotes!

Try a landscaper who does more than just cutting grass and maintaining green stuff.

Do you know where you'll be buying the stone to replace it? Usually those companies have guys that do it or recommendations. Smaller general contractors also do that sort of thing.

Yeah I think a landscaper is your best bet. Or, if you plan to buy the new stone, I bet they have a recommendation for someone.

@BananaPancakes: not sure. This is foreign to me and I figured the company would also supply the material.
DH was looking at stone at Home Depot, but we decided to get quotes instead. It's one less thing he has to do!

If it's brick I would look for a Masonry company. Make sure they specialize in decorative exposed brick and not just like the cinder block bricks to build a house (most are but just check). For something like that I would guess about a $500 minimum for the one day job.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: Then a masonry contractor might be your best bet. I'm from a smaller city, and everyone tends to kind of do everything (I'm in construction), but it might be more specialized in a larger city.

@T.H.O.U.: $500 sounds reasonable to me! I want to get. Few quotes though and weigh options.
Our steps are DESTROYED. This is so necessary and I hope we didn't wait to long to decide to hire someone, I hope their schedules aren't full for the summer!

Hmm, I would think a mason, landscaper who does hardscape or contractor would be able to do it. My dad is a contractor and has experience in some of everything… I know a few landscapers too but some wouldn't have much experience with hardscaping.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: they should be able to provide supplies for you unless you really just want to buy it yourself.

@Mrs. Jump Rope: I just got one quote from a mason for this and it was WAY more than $500, like many multiples. I live in a high cost area, but unless it's just a step or two I would plan on spending more:/
