Can I be artsy, nerdy, jock? I was in marching band and played soccer and got straight A's. I picked nerd though...

Hmm. I think Artsy Geek comes closest, but not right. I never really cleanly fit into any "group". My group of friends consisted of some jocks and some artsy geeks, though. I devoted most of my energy to my high school yearbook (I was editor for 2 years), and because of that I was pretty well-liked all around (though to be honest I think some of them were just nice to me so I wouldn't put an unflattering photo of them in the yearbook... )
I also made good grades and graduated #18 in my class, but I had to work my ass off for it...

Um I was the popular cheerleader that got good grades but was friends with all groups. I was also the secret party animal that could get in trouble for my mouth

I made it multi-choice because I think most people would identify with more than one!
I think Wagon Sr. would choose every single choice because he hung out with every group! He literally sat at a different lunch table each day. He was voted Mr. Congeniality. Haha!

@Mrs Green Grass: similar here, though I played field hockey and ran track. I was in the band and orchestra, school plays, and various clubs, and was at the top of my class. One of the benefits of going to a small school, I guess, though I wish I had focused on fewer things and gotten really good rather than being just okay at all of them.

I did orchestra, dance team, and idrank and did drugs in secret with my boyfriend on the other side of town
So...not sure how to vote lol

I can't pigeon hole, but it wasn't my finest time in life. I was insecure, smart, nerdy, a jock an generally not that happy. We had our reunion and I didn't go because I can't imagine that those folks still conceive of me the same way.

I was a nerd/jock and some considered me preppy. I went through a semi goth phase in 9th and 10th grade too.
pomegranate / 3729 posts
hmmmm. Well, I was a jock who got terrible grades, hung out with the burnouts, and was a member of bible club. Hmmm.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
None of the above? I was a "floater" went around to all groups and talked to everyone.
nectarine / 2220 posts
Umm... I don't know. I hung out with the popular crowd (most because they used me to copy my homework and I had one childhood friend who was super popular and refused to dump me no matter if the rest of the group thought I was pretty nerdy) got straight a's was class Vice President, and did drama/band.

Hmm. I picked prep because I dressed preppy. But I was the quiet girl in school but a party animal on the weekends. I wouldn't say I was a burnout though.

I voted artsy geek but I combined that with emo/goth and academic nerd. You can tell I was a super popular kiddo. Thank god for college. Definitely came into my element there.
honeydew / 7091 posts
Sadly, kind of a loner, or floater like @Bao:. I voted 'nerd' because I was a nerd, I just didn't hang out with them.

We didn't really have those kind of categories here in the UK. We had popular and unpopular. We were the unpopular group - although there were eight of us so I guess we were popular amongst ourselves! I was bullied for being clever and called a square a lot. It was pretty awful, really.
cantaloupe / 6869 posts
I probably would have been a weird hybrid of nerd/jock. Played three varsity sports every year but was in the top 5 of my class and hung out with all of the other "nerdy" people. Still some of my best friends now.
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
I voted artsy geek, because that was what I spent the most time doing (and had the most fun doing).

OH lord, I don't know... I was a nerd in AP classes who did orchestra and ran track.... I voted nerd, though.
coconut / 8681 posts
Hmmm I'd pick nerd but I was more of a floater! I had jock friends and I went to a small private school so basically everyone was a prep haha.
coconut / 8430 posts
I was both nerd & artsy geek! My school had an academic G&T program and an artistic G&T program and I was part of both.
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
None of the above but I guess if I had to pick one I was sorta in the prep with a little bit of nerd. I was, also, in color guard and hung out with band nerds but I wasn't that good in color guard, so I definitely was not artsy.
You should add an 'Other' or a 'none of the above' option.
cantaloupe / 6692 posts
I never left the art department at school! I also kind of ran with the rebel partying crowd.
grapefruit / 4085 posts
I'd have to say a combo of prep nerd and artsy. I was in all honors/AP classes and was also in the orchestra. Well, that scream nerd right there I guess! I was also a big fan of J. Crew, Bass shoes and various other preppy things.
cantaloupe / 6164 posts
I went to a small private school, so we were pretty much all preppy. There were only 53 people in my graduating class! I had a lot of friends, but I was ridiculous & probably obnoxious. I was voted class clown, if that's any indication of who I was.
grapefruit / 4311 posts
I don't think I was any of these things!! Lol. I wasn't a nerd at all unless AP classes auto-qualify you, but I was just very shy and reserved, and most people didn't know me very well because of that... I guess a shy prep. I'm definitely a bigger nerd now than I was in high school bc now I'm confident enough to do whatever I like and not think about what people think
bananas / 9357 posts
not sure... I did color guard so most of my friends did guard and were in band (so nerdy I guess?) and I was in honors/AP classes and got straight A's. I was a big goody goody. Never drank or partied. I was also on the swim team. I don't miss high school.
@bluestriped bee: @MrsKoala: I did color guard too!
pomegranate / 3329 posts
None of the above. I hung out with the cowboys, it was super fun I played volleyball and tennis too.
pineapple / 12526 posts
I was a hardcore goth and I take it as an insult to be lumped in with the emo kids.
I was also the artsy type. I did theatre, played violin and sang in the choir.
pear / 1517 posts
I was in the in between group that was nice to everyone. I made really good grades and danced ballet. I went through a goth/skater phase for awhile, but i was never a partier or burnout. I'm not really sure how to classify myself.
watermelon / 14467 posts
Quiet, insecure, nerdy jock. I ran track and cross country, was active in my church group, and was painfully shy at school. It didn't help that I switched schools in 10th grade.
High school was awful.
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
@loveisstrange: I was totally afraid that was going to happen!!!! lol! too late to separate now though... my high school nerd self is now afraid of your high school goth self.
i'm gonna add "other/none of the above"!
pear / 1992 posts
I voted prep/nerd. I was in an Honors Academy and on the Academic Olympics team... but I was also a cheerleader/ballet dancer and on the fringe of the "in-crowd" and wore a lot of clothes from the Gap. Still, I was a bit of a rebel and probably would have voted for burnout if I hadn't still maintained my straight-A's and extracurriculars.
