I would love to see Chelsea Handler take over the Daily Show! I heard her say once she hates celebrities and wants to do a smarter late-night talk show format. I find her hilarious - but not sure if she's into politics.

I really dislike Chelsea Handler (I just don't find her humor funny at all), and I'm not sure a comedian is the best fit. For one, Jon Stewart has a deep understanding of politics, and his delivery is perfection. If he's leaving, I'd rather the show just be over. I guess on that list, Al Franken??

I wonder if they will be able to get John Oliver from HBO. I love watching him but Jon Stewart is irreplaceable in my opinion.

@littlejoy: I agree with all that you said. Can't stand Chelsea handler and really not sure if anyone can fill Jon's boots but there are some talented people out there. Al Franken is smart and right politically but he really annoys me. perhaps they need to change the direction of the show.
@mrbee: my husband loved the killborn version but it was a totally different show before Jon Stewart came on. Jon really turned the show into something special.

Some shows loose their spark when hosts change. I don't think anyone can just take over Jon Stewart's seat and create the same magic. The show was gold in part because the guests had an affinity toward Jon. I like Chelsea Handler and am looking forward to seeing her on another talk show, just not this one.
