Charlie has been asking me this lately, and I just don't have a good answer. I looked it up on Wikipedia, but it wasn't very illuminating:

I think the moral to the nursery rhyme is Sh*t happens! Especially to arrogant and clumsy eggs who think their little shell will protect them!

I think sitting on the wall gave him a nice view of the castle. He would sit up there and daydream about becoming more than an egg! He wanted to be one of the king's men. He was sitting up there one day when he saw the men riding towards him. He got very excited and nervous and started to fidget. That's when he lost his balance and splat!!
