Why did you have a C section?

I was induced, dilated will to 8, then started swelling closed. My LO was sunny side up and also tilted and her head was stuck sort of in the corner of my pelvis. It was putting pressure just on the back half of my cervix and making it swell closed again. After a few hours of rolling around trying to get her to move, her heart rate started going wonky and I was spiking a temperature (concerning for me and for her because there had been meconium in her fluid). So they pulled me for c-section.

With both babies, breech and not candidates for a ECV.

LO1 - emergency c-section under general aesthesia due to crazy decelerations of LO's heart rate

LO2 - RCS scheduled for 39 weeks to "play it safe" - ended up having an emergency c-section at 34 weeks due to severe preeclampsia.

@jh524: so much easier! I wasn't as sore from being in labor before going in for it. I knew what to expect, so mentally it was easier as well.

@jh524: it went really smooth! They were prepared to do a partial hysterectomy because of placenta issues (unrelated to my uterus) but everything was perfect! Baby will be 1 next month!

DD1 was breech so it was a scheduled C-section and DD2 was a repeat scheduled C-section.

DS was an emergency )induced due to reverse end diastolic cord flow, I barely started cramping and his heart rate plummeted to the 60's and stuck there for too long) DD was a ERC. She was HUGE and quite stuck even for being c-section birth though, with signs of fetal distress on admission for my ERC, so I am very glad I didn't try for a VBAC.

Combination of reasons. 1. Main reason: Failure to progress-- pushed for 3 hrs after laboring down for an hour and DS didn't budge at all in the 4 hrs I spent at 10cm. DS was sunny side up and I just couldn't get him through my pelvis at the angle he was in. 2. Meconium in the fluid meant I had to get DS out fast and I wasn't able to push him fast enough. 3. After 3 hours of pushing, DS's heart rate fell to 80, then never got above 100 -- it dipped down with each push. That was the last straw. Doctor rushed in and said DS had to come out pronto, so off to the OR we went.

Fully displayed but after 3 hours of pushing and an attempt to use a vacuum DS was stuck on my pelvic bone with his 95th percentile head. I'll have a c section next time too bc the swelling from pushing was the worst part of recovery for me.

Detached retinas (previously). They didn't want to pressure of bearing down to re-detach them....and I really didn't want that to happen either!

@Reese: @FaithFertility: @HLK208: @coopsmama: @Kimberlybee: Thanks ladies! It's a beautiful day to have a baby. Woke up to a fresh layer of snow and snuggles from my beautiful girls. Can't believe there will be three of them by the end of the day. I'm so lucky.

I had a scheduled c-section due to him being breech but that was a good thing because the morning of the surgery I woke up with severe preeclampsia (slurring, blurred vision, tingly sensation in my face, and sky high BP).
