We bought 6 hours of moving time for $225! (+165 hidden fees--gas and insurance)
Too good to be true? Uh yeah.
I got quotes from other movers for $130/hr for 2 movers and a truck so decided to save some money and buy the groupon.
Our appt was at 12. They probably won't be here until 2. I'm so annoyed. -.-
Do you hate groupon or is it just me?

I've unsubbed from all groupon, living social, etc., emails! I used to buy one a month or so, but kept forgetting to use them

@mrbee: seriously. This is the last time I buy anything off groupon! On the bright side, M went down at noon and is still sleeping.. Movers probably would have woken her up with all the noise. And P is out getting us Five guys. If they weren't late we probably wouldn't have had time for lunch!

I had a groupon issue too. There were so many restrictions that the coupon was essentially unusable!

I've only bought Groupons for restaurants and haven't experienced issues yet. Sorry they're being such a PIA! Can you complain to Groupon and get a refund or something?

Groupon sucks. I've heard such nightmares from the vendor's end, about the ROI and the way it works. I've only bought one Groupon, for a massage, and never used it. I'd probably only buy it for restaurants. I'm not a big fan of Living Social either, but that's more personal.

I buy a fair amount of Groupons for restaurants and things like mani/pedi/massage; but for cleaning services or moving; I think you get what you pay for. I don’t trust places that so deeply discount because they are going to sell too many coupons and end up not really being able to honor them all and provide the same service levels they would have otherwise. Plus I always think that places will give you a little worse service if they know you got such a good deal!

@chopsuey119: Sorry, I'm too distracted by the Five Guys you are having for lunch. Yum! I'm not a huge fan of Groupon either. The cleaning service groupons are bogus. They state their true cleaning prices outrageously high from what I've seen.

I also no longer subscribe to any daily deal websites like Groupon. In my opinion and experience, any businesses that offer the deal wind up getting so swarmed with business that they can't offer a good product/service any longer to anyone.

I buy from Groupon but I check out their reviews before I buy. I haven't purchased any services but I have purchased goods or hotel stays. We've had pretty good luck with them.

Stupid office manager/receptionist didn't apologize to me once. I hate her.
The guys moving our stuff called and apologized though. They should arrive in a few. -.-

I don't ever buy them on a whim so I love groupon and living social.
I have heard some horror stories so I just always be sure to read the fine print, reviews for the place on yelp or from friends. I generally do only buy from businesses I am familiar with or have heard good things about.

I haven't had any problems with Groupons for restaurants, activities, and a facial. I always read the fine print and do research too. Some places I find myself wanting to go back even without a Groupon, so I guess it worked for me! I used to be so obsessed with Groupons, but now I find myself only buying one once every couple of months, if that. I don't find their deals are as appealing as they once were!

Ugh I have one for a mani/pedi that expires in three weeks, and of course its booked solid until then....awesome, glad I wasted that $30.

Yeah I unsubscibed too- at first it was good, but then we started feeling like we were getting ripped off, businesses providing different products than what the non-groupon product is and stuff like that.

@chopsuey119: You should email them about your experience. I used a Groupon and was very disappointed with the company, so I emailed Groupon to tell them how awful it was, and they gave me a credit for the price of my Groupon. It can't hurt!

I've had all good experiences but only bought for restaurants that had decent reviews. We've found some of our favorite spots through Groupons!
