My daughter is about to be two and a half (WOW that went fast!) and she is asking "Why" all the time! I thought that this was an older kid thing, and I don't know how to answer her all the time. I know she isn't old enough to understand explanations. When did your LOs start asking "Why?" after everything?

I am getting the same thing from my almost 2 1/2yo. I said something at daycare the other day and the teacher said they are all doing it. Eventhough DD isn't old enough to understand explanations I try to give her something so I'm not just responding "because" all the time. Usually if I respond then she stops asking for at least a minute or two

I get "What's that?" all day from my 2 1/2 yo. At least it's easier to answer,

I used to give long complicated answers to Charlie. But then I realized, he doesn't mind a short answer when he asks why.
I definitely think it's important to encourage kids to keep asking why though! Even though it can be so annoying haha!

@Mrs. Superhero: same with DD. It is easy to answer...not looking forward to the harder "why" questions.
