I got the results of a bunch of blood work yesterday and they said my glucose was high at 100 on a non-fasting blood test. The cutoff was 99. I'm extremely frustrated because I had eaten lunch about an hour and a half before they drew the blood and I just don't see how 100 is high. It was a random blood glucose test and I thought the range for that test was up to 120 or 140. I feel like they are adding a ton of extra stress to my life for no reason at all.
I thought they were making such a big deal about it because my dad is a type 2 diabetic, but apparently it's because my body's blood sugar went up (like it's supposed to!) after I ate. Does anyone else's dr go by this stupid range?
