I just wrote a little bit about my dad in the thread about husbands, because my husband is a lot like my dad in regards to children. My dad set an awesome example for what to look for in a partner from day one with me (even though I didn't realize it all the time, and did date some losers - there was no way I would have have kids with or married any of them!). I'm pretty sure I have my dad to thank as the reason I ended up with someone like my husband; he taught me never to settle.

My dad set the example that men and women are equal in all ways; I could do whatever I wanted professionally and personally and my husband should always support me.

My dad cooked and cleaned right alongside my mom (though my mom did more of that when we were little since she has always been a SAHM) and he came to all of our recitals and games and things and always helped with homework.

He loves to come over and help me fix things in our house now; like he helped me put together raised beds and plant a garden, etc.

He's an awesome dad!!

My dad is pretty much awesome. We have always been really close, especially because I was like "the son he never had"....even though I have two brothers, lol. But my dad LOVES the outdoors, camping, hiking, etc--and my brothers don't, really. But I do! So we went on a bunch of dad/daughter river trips, camping trips, and all the fun stuff he couldn't do with my brothers.

He is also extremely generous, and does so many things for me without even having to ask.

He also leaves the best/sweetest voicemail messages. I'm so scared of having to delete them someday to make room for more!
