Sometimes I take LO to my MIL's shop to visit. Her clients gush over LO and tell my MIL that her granddaughter is cute. My MIL thanks them for their kind comments but always whips out baby pictures of DH and his brothers and brags about how cute they were as babies! 
I wonder if I will be the same kind of mom?!

I asked my parents about this. I know he always told us how beautiful we are, but my sister and I both had an awkward phase. When I asked him if he remembers and could acknowledge the awkward phase while we were it it, he has no recolection of it at all.

I do think my LO is pretty freaking cute but my sister just had a baby on Monday and I think my LO has some stiff competition!! Her baby has a fauxhawk!

My MIL is the opposite! She tells my husband all the time, "I thought you and your brother were the most beautiful babies, but LO is more beautiful!" It's her first (and possibly only) grandchild though, so she's allowed to be dramatic.

Ha, I thought parents were always like that!. But for some families (like mine), it continues into adulthood. It's great my mom thinks i'm the greatest thing since sliced bread, but uh, it's also kinda ridiculous and unrealistic 
I'd totally be OK if my daughter is cuter than I was!

I seriously doubt my parents fall in that category. They never really said anything about me or my brother. Though my sister they thought was the cutest thing ever! DHs parents always say our nephews are the cutest, best looking, etc...and never anything about DH or his sister.
I think older generation Asian parents are not the bragging type - rather put their kids down a lot. Us? IDK...I think we r pretty objective.

I think she is pretty darn cute for now, but I'm sure it will fade. I think you can only be "cute" for so long!

seriously... Olive is one of the prettiest baby girls I've EVER seen.
I am same as Mrs. Bee - I'm pretty objective about my child's cuteness... and other babies cuteness (or lack thereof) :-O
I do think my baby is cute - not just cause he's mine - but because he is pretty freakin' adorable. He has the most amazing eyes and gets compliments on them all the time.
I do think there are babies cuter than my son and I think that's okay. I don't want my kids to get a false sense of...whatever it's called when you constantly praise/compliment your kids :):)
I get jealous when I see babies with more hair than my son. I think he would be a lot cuter with a little more hair haha!

When DD was first born I immediately compared her to our friend's new baby girl and I hated myself for thinking, "but she's cuter than our baby!" then i realized she had a c-section baby so her girls face wasn't all smushed and swollen like my LO's. It took DD about two weeks to look less alien and more human
Now I totally think my LO is the cutest but no I'm pretty biased lol I'm with @CocoBee, if DD had a little bit more hair I'd be happier with everyone not mistaking her for a boy too

I definitely think my baby is the cutest ever lol and probably will forever!. My mom thinks he is the cutest too, and doesn't compare him to her own kids perhaps bc she had all girls, and now has all grandsons.

It's kind of the opposite in my house. Mom tells us all the time that M is the cutest baby she has seen in some time. I was not a cute baby and we have no baby pictures of my husband (apparently his mom lost them????)
But I think my baby is the cutest ever. Probably always will.

When we're at home, we often talk about how lucky we are for getting a cute one We think she's the cutest thing ever, but we keep it to ourselves. For us it's just a parent thing. But objectively, she's as cute as any other baby out there. They're all cute! I love babies in general and will definitely miss her chunks when she gets older!

maybe this will change once we have a LO, but i fully expect them to be ugly as infants (even though i think lots of other babies are cute), but then become adorable as toddlers!! and hopefully stay that way DH was a pretty ugly baby, but was an adorable toddler & a total hottie now. his parents never talk about cuteness other than size, they like to notice people's size. my parents talk about me being a gorgeous baby & my brother being cute in a funny way, not in a pretty baby way. my mom works with newborns, so she sees a LOT of babies & i become the golden standard for all others to be compared to =) i was rarely beat- maybe 2 or 3 times, but she's call & tell me, lol.

I think C is about the most gorgeous baby girl on Earth... but I definitely think there are other kids as cute as she is.
I actually think other kids are not as cute now that I'm a parent... I think that probably makes me a bad person but I can't help it.

I think my baby is super cute but I honestly think that it's an evolutionary thing. Parents are probably hard wired to think that their baby is cute to get through the difficult times. I even think his crying face is cute!
