My friends and I have a HUGE tub of maternity clothes that we borrow from. Every person contributes some to it (we put our initials on the tags so we know what belongs to who). It was a huge help because it gave me more variety to my maternity clothes than I would have spent money to get.

I think as long as you let your friend know that you're loaning them to her instead of just giving them to her, it shouldn't be a problem.

I would lend them out, to a good friend or my sisters. My sister lent a bunch of stuff to our SIL, but my sister told her she wanted them back when she was done (rather than passing them along to anyone else). Hopefully, I'll get plenty of stuff lent to me when it's my turn and I'll pass that on. Luckily, my sisters, SIL, and I are all within an inch of each other in height and not that much different sizes (non-pregnant at least).

BFF is about 3.5 months behind and I def would if she asked. I work in a business cas setting and she works in a yoga clothing store; so she'll probably want to stick to her own wardrobe anyway!

I should add that if there was something that had a lot of value to me for any reason, I might not lend that out to everyone or would make a point to tell them that I cared more about that one thing. In general, clothes are clothes to me and I'm not super duper careful, plus clumsy, so I'd appreciate the warning if someone lent me something special.

Only to really good friends. But then I don't have much anyway and the few clothing items I have are pretty worn.
But I will def lend her pregnant and baby gear even though I plan on having a #2!

Yes! A friend let me borrow a tub of maternity clothes and they are great transition clothes for me! She is a little smaller so her stuff will fit me well for the next few months. I'll be returning the favor when she's having her second. Nothing in the box is super expensive by any means--shirts from Target and JCPenney, etc. It was super super nice of her

I put together a large maternity wardrobe that was all bought brand New. I don't want to risk lending it out and never seeing it again, since I definitely want to use it for number 2. I might lend out one or two specific things if someone needs it but I won't be sending the whole collection out to anyone.

Absolutely! After DD was born, a friend gave me all her maternity clothes (she was done having kids). I boxed up my clothes and her clothes and lent them out to a third friend. When that friend was done, she added her clothes to the box and passed them on. I got the box back (it's now like two giant storage containers) and was surprised to see so many new, awesome items! Right now the boxes are just sitting in my storage, but if another friend needs them before I do again, I'm happy to pass them on.

I gave it away.

I would except that a) most of my friends are done having babies and b) the only people who are having babies are either nowhere near the same size as me or live in Georgia and won't need my winter maternity clothes.

I have loaned mine out to a friend who I KNOW is really careful and will take care of them.... she even mentioned to me rotating through pieces to be mindful not to wear them out, so I know they are in good hands. But overall I've been kind of stingy about it - I spent alot of money on maternity wear and want to be able to use it all again and want it to be in good shape!

I so do! And it's going to get passed along amongst our close group of friends. We're doing a sisterhood of the traveling maternity pants!

Yup I did and got them back for olive. Now she's pregnant with her second, do I'm giving them back to her. The clothes survived 4 pregnancies!

No I dont like sharing clothes. lol

You are a nice friend :). I'm honestly really picky about my clothes and I wouldn't trust someone else to take care of them- I'm like that with regular clothes too. I spent a decent amount on maternity clothes knowing we were going to have 2 kids so hopefully I'm pregnant again in the same season :)!

We had a group of women who all shared our maternity clothes. It was kind of awesome because there were like 6 of us and each woman added the clothes that she bought... so what started as a couple of boxes of clothes ended up being a massive treasure trove of maternity wear. (And I still didn't have anything to wear by 38 weeks!)
