I have no problem with a few little white lies, like "Oh, Elmo is going to sleep now" or "The park is closed today so we can't go"... but maybe I'm just going to be a mean mom! lol!

It's not something that I plan to do. But I can see myself, in a fit of frustration, saying something ridiculous in the hope that it might make her behave. My mother never really came up with creative lies like a witch living next door. But looking back, I realized she definitely fudged the truth to scare me into submission! Haha.

Knowing me, yes, I probably will. I used to tell my brother that he was dropped off by gypsies, that if he didn't behave the paddywagon would come to our house to get him and one that I used for a really long time after he dropped an F-bomb that he didn't know the meaning of, that I was going to tell on him for swearing if he didn't do XY or Z.

I woudl love to say no, but I already do this with my nieces so I dotn' know what would be different with my own child. Usually they know I'm joking, unless I tell the 4 year old "are you hitting/being naughty do I need to call the cops on you and pick up my phone?" and she thinks I'm serious.

I see myself telling small lies. Stuff like McDonald's is closed today.
