So Amazon announced the changes to their Amazon Mom program today and from what I can see on their FB page, people are PISSED! Below is a summary of changes from their FB page.

++++++++

* Starting on January 24, 2012, the maximum discount available on diapers and wipes subscriptions will be 20%. This includes a 5% Subscribe & Save discount and an additional 15% exclusively for Amazon Mom members.

* New customers who join Amazon Mom in 2012 will get three months of FREE Two-Day Shipping benefits. Any current Amazon Mom members are still eligible to continue earning up to one year total of FREE Two-Day Shipping benefits.
(Hint: if you're not sure how many months you're still eligible to earn, you can check your account: http://www.amazon.com/mom-account).

* Once the free period is over, customers can join Amazon Prime for $79/year to continue to receive full access to Amazon Mom and Amazon Prime benefits.

++++++

So, a lot of people are comparing this to Netflix's recent move and is expecting mass exodus away from Amazon. I'm curious, will you continue to buy your diapers from Amazon? or will you go elsewhere?

*For me, I don't actually buy too many diapers from Amazon (can't beat Costco diaper prices with their coupons) but I do buy almost everything else from them and have enjoyed the free prime for the last year and a half (my membership and then my husband's). At $79/yr, I know I'll more than recoup that value just in 2-day shipping alone so I'm not too heated about it. Plus, I'm also gonna take advantage of their free video streaming that is included with prime membership. I guess I look at the last 1 1/2 years of great prices & free 2-day shipping as a bonus and not necessarily something that is being taken away. You?
