I did because my doc recommended. I usually do anyways because I work with children.

Yes, I'm planning on getting it this year. I usually get it anyway because I work with little kids who are always bringing me lots of germs!

Nope, I never get one. I'll ask my ob's opinion though because I will be pregnant during flu season this year.

I have gotten one the last 2 years since I became a nurse, and will get one this year. Have to for work anyway, but LO will be born in the middle of flu season too (January)!

My OB practically required it. I am completely okay with it though.

I've never gotten a flu shot, before, and straddled the fence about getting one while pregnant. I ended up getting what I thought was a small head cold the day before I was scheduled to receive my first flu shot, at 17 weeks. My OB requested that I come back in a few days, as it wasn't recommended that I get the injection, while ill. My small head cold ended up snowballing out of control, and became a full fledged flu. It was *horrific* - I couldn't take any medication, and was just throwing up everything I ate or drank. The congestion was absolutely miserable, and I was so feverish. I ended up extremely dehydrated and had to go to the hospital for four bags of IV fluids. LO ended up being just fine, but the situation was dangerous.

I'll definitely be getting a flu shot with subsequent pregnancies.

My midwife is neutral on getting the flu shot. Actually, I think she's a little more against it than for it. I probably won't get it this year. I have to for work but since I'll be off the months it's required, I'm hoping to wiggle myself out of it! I feel like it's more of a threat to the baby...

Yes, I got one while pregnant. The benefits of protection against the most dangerous strains of flu outweigh any potential risk, IMO. DH and I will be getting one this year as well, since LO will be unable to recieve the vaccine until he's 6 months old.

I'll get the flu shot if my doctor tells me to, but if he doesn't mention it then I probably won't remember. I've only ever gotten it once in my life because I happened to be at a clinic for a different reason on a day they were giving free flu shots. I've also only gotten the flu once that I can remember, but it was during a really stressful time when I wasn't really healthy at all. I don't get sick generally.

Yes I did, getting the flu while pregnant is dangerous for both mom and the baby and I was pregnant right at the peak of flu season. I also get a flu shot for herd immunity to protect little babies who are too young to get the shot and kids who can't get it for medical reasons. So it is really a broader decision too.

I never used to get any "voluntary" shots but what I now perceive as my immature ways went out the window when I became a mom. I get my flu shot every year, boosters, whatever I'm supposed to get, I get it.

Yes I did. My midwife very, very strongly recommended it and told me that the risks to the baby were greater if I *didn't* get it. I always get it each year anyways, so it wasn't a big deal for me.
