DH and I each just have 1 sister. My sister has a 6 year old and cannot have another LO. His sister may never have kids, by choice. I do have half siblings, but we aren't close.
LO will probably only have 1 or 2 cousins and I think that's sad.

D has two older brothers and no cousins
He'll have at least 18. 4 from D's side, which are the ones he'll see the most growing up, along with two from my side. He'll probably meet the others maybe once, if at all.
bananas / 9899 posts
He/she will have two who will be born about a month before!
I grew up with only 3 cousins and I still had lots of fun!
pomegranate / 3516 posts
She'll probably just have 2 from DH's side but maybe will have a couple more one day.
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
2 of DH's side. Mine - technically is 2 as well. But I consider my cousin's kids my neices and nephews too. So she has 8 more!
watermelon / 14206 posts
My brother has a daughter and another baby due in August, so they'll have two over there. My younger brother is no where close to having any kids.
DS has a couple cousins on his dad's side, and probably more later on, once his uncle and aunt decide they're ready.
DH's brother and fiance have declared themselves child-free, so LO will probably only have my brother's kids.
pear / 1998 posts
I didn't have any growing up and I only have one brother who is much younger than me, so who knows if our kids will have cousin on my side. We already have 8 nieces/nephews on DH's side. One of his siblings isn't married yet, but he might have kids in the future so there might be more.
pear / 1609 posts
probably not a whole lot. He has one now. BIL and his wife want a big family though (or did before they had 1) and SIL may not ever have kids
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
First cousins? Nope
DH is an only child and I have one sister. She probably won't have kids for another 5-10 years, though.
cantaloupe / 6059 posts
None yet, but eventually I bet so. DH has 6 unmarried siblings. Unfortunately, most of the cousins will be significantly younger than DS.
nectarine / 2690 posts
If we have a child, no he or she won't have a lot of cousins. DH's brother has 4 kids. My brother had no kids, and my sister won't be having any.
It bums me out a bit...we both grew up with a lot of cousins! I had 7 on my moms side (well, actually there are 3 or 4 more, but I've never met them) and 6 on my dads side. Doesn't sound like that much written out but it was a blast!
pineapple / 12793 posts
She has 18 so far!
My sister's haven't had any kids yet and neither has DH's full bio sisters so I imagine she'll probably end up with about 25.
pear / 1769 posts
She will likely have a handful on my side of the family, but that won't be for years. None on my husbands side.
clementine / 995 posts
We don't have a LO yet, but when we do they will probably only have 2 or 3 cousins. I am an only child and DH has 2 siblings.
DH's older sister has one child and says that they are done. His younger brother is a only a freshman in college, and most likely won't be having any kids for a while.
I have 9 cousins so I am kind of sad that our kids won't have as many.
blogger / honeydew / 7081 posts
In a LONG time, she might.
Collectively, we've got 5 siblings, but the oldest is several years from having kids, and the youngest is only 6.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
On my side she already has 4, and DH's side she's has one with number 2 this summer. We have a TON of 2nd cousins who we are close with that she will grow up with, there are at last 6 within a year of her on DH's mom's side alone! haha and come to think of it, we hae 6 on my dad's side too within 18 months of her!

Probably. He currently has six. My one sister has two kids and is done (though they may adopt in the future), and my brother and SIL have one and will have more in years to come. Additionally I have three other siblings - but they are 21, 17 and 9 so marriage/kids is a ways off for any of them. He will have cousins of many ages likely!
That is my family.
With my ILs he currently has three as well, and there are still more siblings who don't have kids yet.

I have no cousins, bump will have 2 when he/she is born then more in years to come as my brother is 7 years younger than me, so hopefully a while to wait!
persimmon / 1198 posts
If each of our siblings have 1 child then our baby will have at least 7 cousins. I hope he is has more though because I love having lots of cousins! He will actually have a cousin born a couple months after him this year!
pomelo / 5678 posts
She won't have any I have a few cousins in nyc that I love and hope lo can be cousins with their children.
grapefruit / 4823 posts
On my side they already have 7, and both my brothers are still having kids. On DH side, probably 1 or 2.
grapefruit / 4997 posts
DD has many 1st cousins and even more 2nd cousins than anyone I know (on her dad's side), some are overseas so I don't know all of their names, but the ones that live here in the USA we are very close to. My DH was raised by his grandmother, so he grew up with his cousins and they are basically his siblings in the form of cousins. We love our cousins! Cousins make the best of friends.
pomelo / 5607 posts
Don't really know. DH has 3 siblings, but I could see 2 of them never having kids (except maybe by accident) or at the very least it being a long time. His sister has a 3 year old, but I'm not sure where they stand on having more. My sister is 14 and my brother is 12, so I have no idea if they'll want kids, but either way it'll be a while. So I think they might wind up having quite a few, but there will probably be an age gap.
That being said, one of my cousins just had her fourth in Jan, another is due in april, another just had one this weekend. So there will be kids of cousins around. (Not sure how they're related technically. Second cousins? Cousins removed somehow?)
grapefruit / 4089 posts
I hope so! I have 3 siblings (although one will never have kids), and my SO has two. I have a lot of cousins, but I'm only close to 4 of them (all boys, and all younger than I am, but they are still awesome!), so I'd love for my future LO to have a big extended family.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
DH and I have 1 brother each. DH's brother has 1 son, and my brother isn't married yet. Unless he plans on having lots of kids later on, probably not.
grapefruit / 4903 posts
DD has 5 cousins on one side, but they're all at least 10 years older than her. I hope my side has kids so that she has some closer to her age, but it's not looking promising that it'd be any time soon.
nectarine / 2220 posts
Probably not. DH and I each have one sibling. My sister has a step son that they barely see so I guess that counts as one cousin, and she will maybe have one of two of her own. DH's sister, who knows. I'd guess our LO will have 3-5 cousins.
A decent amount, but I have 25. I'm close with quite a few of them still, and I refer to their kids as LO's cousins though.
coconut / 8430 posts
Nope. We both have younger brothers and we don't think they are getting married/having kids anytime soon!
I have over 25 first cousins, though I don't know most of them very well since they are spread across the globe.
clementine / 899 posts
No LO, but they will probably only have 1 or 2 and I will be surprised if they become even remotely close with them. They will probably be more close to DH's first cousins kids that live in our area.
I myself am closer to my parents first cousin's kids as my first cousins are 10-20 years younger than me.
hostess / wonderful honeydew / 32460 posts
They have 2 cousins right now. I'm sure they'll have at least another 4 in the future.
honeydew / 7283 posts
M has 3 first cousins right now and the potential for more. I have two siblings who don't have kids yet and DH has one brother who doesn't have kids yet and one who may choose not to have kids. I only have 2 first cousins, so I would love for M to have many cousins!
persimmon / 1121 posts
Any future LOs will likely only have a few cousins. None of our siblings have children yet, though I imagine it's not far off. I had 20 cousins growing up and lots of second cousins, and I'm a little sad our children won't get to experience that.
bananas / 9118 posts
My husband's side will soon have 5 grandsons, my side only has our son.
kiwi / 645 posts
Not as many as I would like! I grew up with tons of cousins and many of them were my best friends.
GOLD / cantaloupe / 6581 posts
She already has 6, and my side of the family hasn't started having kids yet. She also has 3 second cousins within a few hours, and 4 step-cousins. I'm thrilled she has a big family already, because I only had 2 cousins growing up who I saw mayyybe 10 times TOTAL in my life (and who I haven't seen in a decade).
