Will your LO have a lot of cousins?

DH has 2 siblings and 3 cousins that he's extremely close to (his mom and aunt basically raised all their kids together). I have one brother. I think everyone will end up having about 2 kids average, so that will be 12 cousins or second cousins to have.

That said, DH live away from both sides of our family, so I don't know how much interaction they will have growing up. Also, I grew up with a TON of cousins nearby and my brother and I are not close to them. Just because you have a lot of cousins doesn't mean you'll like them or get along with them.

direct cousins, probably two (maybe 3?) dh is an only and i have a lil bro. we have tons of friends who we consider bros/sis and all of our kids refer to each other as aunts/uncles, so we consider them our kid's cousins!

probably zero. We both have 1 older childfree sibling. My bro says he might adopt but doesn't really want babies. My wife's sister is not so much the maternal type.

Not a ton. DH and I both have just one sibling. His sister is currently pregnant, which is SO exciting. My brother may have kids, but not for a while.

Not many, we currently have 2 on my husband's side and my brother and his wife are expecting soon. In the end there may be be 5-6 total, depending on if my other BIL ever has kids.

Probably not a lot of 1st cousins. He has a boy cousin from DHs sister and a girl cousin from my sister. I know my sister only wants one more child and DHs sister barely wants the one she's got.

But I'm close with my family which includes my cousins and their children. Even though they are his 3rd cousins, he will grow up playing with them at holidays and family functions. And there is 5 of them so far.

She will have two first cousins, and has 2 second cousins right now.

No cousins so far and it doesn't look like they'll have many. Maybe 3-4 tops. That is part of the reason I want to have a big family!

So far, she only has 1 cousin and it could just be the two of them. I'm not counting on our brothers (my bro and BIL) because they're both single and has never even brought a girl home for us to meet! She has tons of 2nd cousins though. She also tons of godsiblings.

Oh DH's side, our future LOs will have a ton of cousins. Far fewer on my side, but I'm also close with MY first cousins, so their kiddos will be around.

They'll have at least 2 cousins - DH's sister has 1 plus another on the way. My brother could go either way, I'm really not sure if he'll ever have kids or not. I was very close to about 3 of my cousins growing up though, and 2 of them have little ones who we see on a fairly regular basis.

Yep - 5 on my side (but probably no more.). Only 2 so far on DHs side, but he's 1 of 8 and the 5 siblings that are younger than him are just getting started with marriage and kids.

So far he has 12 - 4 on my side and 8 on my husband's side. I love that he has that many. Plus when my cousins have kids those will be even more. And a bunch are close to his age.

Our future LO(s) should have at least 4. DH's brother & sister both each already have 1 kid. SIL should have at least 1 more. My own sister in the distant future (she's young) should have at least 1!

She has seven on DH's side (and there won't be any more). I have one half-brother, but he is seven years younger than me and isn't married/doesn't have kids yet.

I don't think so, and it bums me out!! She will have one cousin who is 18 mo older than her, but he lives in NYC (we're in Ohio). That is my DH's sister's kid, and she is 32 and not married or dating anyone so I don't see her having any more kids for a while, if at all. My only brother is married but he's 37 and still no kids and is making a late-in-life career change. So I feel like IF they decide to have kids it will almost certainly be only 1 or 2 at most.

It depends on how many kids my brother has. He currently has a one year old, and I know they want more, but I'm not sure how many more. Our kid(s) won't have any cousins on my husband's side.

I have a lot of cousins though who I'm still pretty close to, so they will have lots of other kids in the extended family.

Between DH and I we have 7 siblings. We are the older end of them so we have a few years but they will have a few cousins. We have one niece from my brother and SIL right now.

She has two, and will probably have more eventually but not close in age. I'm the baby in my family by more than a decade, so my nieces are in middle school. My husband's siblings aren't married or engaged yet so kids are probably at least a few years away for them.

We refer to our close friends' as Auntie and Uncle, and their kids as her cousins though, so hopefully she'll never feel a shortage of familiar similar ages kids. I want her to have the experience of a big close family even though we are far from home

She has 1 first cousin. I don't think she'll have any more which is kind of sad but I'm not super close with any of my cousins.
