My parents are 68 and 78, so they would be 84 and 94 when Charlie turns 16. Crossing my fingers that they get to see Charlie turn 18! But sadly, that's a long time from now.
Are your parents likely to be alive when your LO is 18 years old?

Dad's turning 63 this month, Mom 60 in November.
I hope they're around to attend my LOs' weddings!
My grandma was at mine! She's 92.

My parents always wonder out loud if they'll be alive to see LO get married. My mom is 61, my dad is 64. By the time LO is 18, they are likely to be alive.

I hope so! They will both be 59 this year, so that would put them at 77? Three out of their four parents were still alive at that age which bodes well. DH's dad is already deceased, and his mom is 66, so she would be 84. Her health isn't as good, so not sure if she will.

I really hope so. They will be in their sixties of I have a LO within the next four years.

I hope so. My parents are 53 and 58. DH's parents are 51 and 54. They had us when they were 30-35, but DH and I are in our early-mid 20's (and TTC). Hopefully they'll be around for awhile!

My parents are 62 and 80. They will be 80 and 98 when my LO is an adult. Just thinking about where my parents might be in 18 years makes me sad.

I hope so! They will be 80 then....right now they are 61/62 and in great health.

Never thought about this. My dad is 65 now. My dad will be 83 in 18 years if we get pregnant. It's sad to think about. My mom would be 73. I hope they are still alive.

My parents are all 50 (stepdad, mom & dad). If we have our first LO in 3 years, they will be 71, so I imagine so! DH's parents will be 79 and 75 so I imagine they will still be around too. You never know what the future holds, of course.
Right now, I am 24 and my grandparents are in their late 70s. They were all able to attend my wedding and I'm super happy about that. I just hope they will live to see our LOs. It would be wonderful if our LOs actually were able to have memories of my grandparents - I have memories of my great-grandparents!

My parents will be 67 and 71. My mom might be around, but highly doubt my dad will be since he has so many unhealthy habits. My inlaws will be 75 and 81 and I expect they will be around because they are both so healthy and health conscious.
I REALLY hope my grandma is around. She will be 90, but she's very healthy, health conscious, and super fietsy so I'm hopeful!

My parents probably yes just based on age and current health. It's a plus of being a young parent to be but I don't take it for granted, and I know something could happen at any time.

My father died 9 years ago. It saddens me that he never knew about LO, let alone met LO.
My mum is mid 70s, so we will see!

Most likely. Both our families are long-lived and they'll only be in their late 70's by then.

My dad passed away before Hubs and I got together, but my mom is only 50, so she should be here. Hubs' parents are 62 and 63 so if we had a LO this year, they'd be in their earlier 80's, so hopefully they'll be here too. His family is blessed with longevity!

Mine better be! Not sure if his will be. His folks are in their early 70's, mine are in their early 60's.

My parents probably will be, they are 54 and 58. DH's parents are both deceased already, unfortunately. Our LO will never even meet them.

Age wise, they should be. They are 50 and 52 now which will make them 68 and 70 when our first baby is 18. However, I routinely panic that they won't be around. My mom's dad died when I was 4 (she was 31) and she has always felt like she got robbed of her dad and seeing him with his grandchildren. My biggest fear is that something will happen to one of my parents.

My parents are in their mid fourties now so unless there are some tragc accidents I see no reason why they wouldn't be alive.

My parents just hit their early 40's (42/43) so they should be. Dh's mom is in pretty rough shape though so Idk about her. I hope so though.

My guess is that both of the grandmothers will and both of the grandfathers won't baring any unforeseen health developments. It's sad...

Assuming we get pregnant soon (hopefully!) then yes, hopefully and barring any major unforeseen issues. His parents are a lot older than mine though. If we got pregnant this year, then my mother would be in her early 60's (63), my dad and stepdad would be in their late 60's (68) and his dad would be in his early 70's (73) in 18-19 years.

I believe and hope so! My mom will be in her late 60's, and my dad will be in his mid 70's. Based on their health and the longevity of my grandparents, I have good reason to believe they will still be around. DH's parents will be in their late 70's, but they're in fairly good health as well, so I'm hopeful for them, too.

i hope so! they'll be around 80 and 82.... which is still relatively young....
