We made a fancy dinner on Saturday but otherwise, I'm expecting nothing. And I'm a-ok with that.

We don't need usually do anything big, but apparently he and DD picked something out that arrived in a small box from an address Im pretty sure I recognize...I got him chili late covered strawberries and a card, so I'm feeling a little bad!

he thought about it, but knew i'd rather him be home from work earlier, so he told me what it was and that he'd pick it up later. he's also gonna make "his ladies" a nice dinner.

No, we don't celebrate it. It's also not really a thing in his culture.

He surprised us with chocolates and a Lego magaizne-activity pack for DD. All wrapped up with bows and individual cards I'm sick, so it was a really nice way to start my day.

Doubtful...he surprised me with flowers last week after a particularly rough night with wake ups, though. And we're going out for Mexican food tonight with the baby. Romantic!

Very doubtful, gifts aren't really his thing and I think he views valentine's day as gimmicky. I'm not into gifts for the sake of it - I asked him not to get me anything for Christmas because there wasn't anything in particular I needed - but I feel like a small box of chocolates or flowers make such nice little gifts.

We used to go out for a weekend trip around President's day, but between baby, a car accident (mine), and a speeding ticket (his), we canceled our daylong date and we are spending all weekend doing driving school wooooohoooo haha.
I am a middle school teacher and I am looking forward to seeing all the ridiculous presents they got for each other, though! BIG bears and balloons.

Yes we always exchange gifts at Valentine's Day. It's usually jewelry

Maaaaybe flowers. I'm home with our sick baby today and we have no plans anyway so not very exciting here.

Yep, there was a mysterious package delivered a few days ago, and I came downstairs this morning to a bouquet of roses on the table. (DD ran toward them pointing and shouting "DADDY FOWERS, DADDY FOWERS" so I guess she figured out where they came from.)

So, my DH and I are ridiculous. He had told me he was doing something as a surprise for me today, but I had no idea what it was. So, to reciprocate, I sent him cupcakes to his office. When I didn't hear from him about the cupcakes and was starting to get annoyed, I called and he confessed that he'd taken the day off work to clean the house and cook a fancy dinner for me as the surprise
I'm super appreciative and surprised, but I have to say that this feels a *little* like a present for himself and not for me. He likes to cook and have the house uncluttered (and we have a cleaning lady so it's not really dirty). So basically he gets a day off to do stuff he likes and relax. Hmm.... (repeating to myself) It's the thought that counts

@Chuckles: hahaha! Yeah, it's the thought that counts!
I was home with a sick DD yesterday, and DH was supposed to pick up DS from school. It's a five minute walk. They showed up 40 minutes after school closed, when I was losing my mind and DD was tucking herself into bed because she was too tired to wait up for daddy I was so mad when I opened the door, and then felt so bad when I realized they were carrying flowers!

Well, he doesn't usually, but this year he surprised me with flowers, chocolate, cupcake wine, and beer!

We don't do anything big and cook a nice meal of filets at home and he normally gets me flowers.

We don't really do gifts for each other in general. Instead we spend the money on a nice dinner out, which we're doing tomorrow!

Update: okay, my DH is cute. He got me the Gilmore Girls cookbook (I really love the show) and is cooking the whole dinner from it.

Yes. Something very small. I got him a mug and fun chocolate. I'm big into holidays of all types. I like year markers.
Although I teach a pagan child who's family doesn't give christmas gifts so gives the teachers valentine's gifts instead. I got wool blend running socks from her! They are amazing.

Lol, no never. But my MIL and my parents each got me gifts so I guess it evens out for my husband's forgetfulness

I doubt it. He went to the gym after work and left me to deal with bedtime. But I dislike Hallmark holidays, and we coincidentally had a rare date night this weekend. I would rather save the romantic gestures for more authentic occasions.

I was wrong. He sent flowers- really pretty 3 dozen roses. Just this morning I was thanking him for not sending flowers this year. I expected him to send it Monday. This year he listened and I didn't have to put the flowers in the vase myself.

He got me a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a certificate to design my own custom perfume.

We do cards. We were at Costco and he asked if I wanted flowers. I said if he had the desire, to do it some other week when you can get double the flowers for the price of what's available on Valentine's lol.
