Before I got our BFP, DH's family decided to do Christmas in Santa Fe, NM and booked a place. Santa Fe is one of my favorite places on earth (and where DH and I got engaged), so naturally I'm soooo excited about the trip. I know I won't be able to ski with DH and my SILs, but it would still be so much fun to have Christmas in the mountains, eat lots of yummy food, shop, and just relax in my home state.

Here's my conundrum. I'll be 25 weeks and change during the trip. It is a 6-hour drive from where I live. There are no major hospitals, etc. on the way. In fact, the closest NICU (I believe) is in Albuquerque, which is slightly over an hour away. I asked my OB about it last week. I said that of course if I were on bed rest or having major complications I knew I couldn't go, but otherwise, would traveling at that point be okay. She said the travel itself isn't a problem as long as I get out and walk, but the issue is if I go into preterm labor and my babies are born there, they will have to stay in the NICU there until they are released. So . . . I could end up with my babies in NICU 7 hours away from where we live. She basically said it's up to me and how comfortable I am with the risk, assuming everything else is okay. I plan on waiting until Dec. and see if I'm having any contractions, signs of preterm labor, etc. before I make a decision, but it hurts me to think about missing out on the trip!

Anyone else having to rethink their holiday plans?
