I know the name he had in the movie. I've heard that they chose that name because a similar-looking character in another book by the same authors had that name.

My son makes me read the curious george books by the original authors every day and 'the man' definitely doesn't have a name in those (but there are only 7 books). It must have been added later!

Yes, we're Curious George fans here. In one of the recent movies, the man with the yellow hat has a generic name like John. Hearing that he has a name is memorable to me because we were in the peds ER at the time. They had the Curious George movie as one of their selections while waiting to be evaluated.

@Rainbow Sprinkles: thank goodness he has a name!! I hate saying the man with the yellow hat all the time. Ted is so much easier! Right now, my kids love watching curious George so it comes up a lot when they want me to tell stories.

I knew he had one and that they say it in the movie, but didn't know what it was. And I only knew that because my friend told me. C isn't really into Curious George so it hasn't come up here.
