@LindsayInNY: My face gets bright red, hair a sweaty mess. I don't know that wiping down will help! Eek.
I need to start walking or something during lunch, but it's kinda hot out, so I don't think that would work so well either unless it's just a slow stroll.

@pregnantbee: Same here... Takes some time for face redness to subside. And it's definitely a ponytail for the rest of the day!

Never. Sometimes the weekend. Working out was my main hobby before baby. I did Crossfit until 10 weeks, when I had to stop because I couldn't keep my heart rate down. Now I just don't have time. I've been thinking I might be able to squeeze in some here and there after he goes to bed, but every time I make the commitment, we suddenly have days of craziness out of nowhere and I never get to it. I miss running.

@BananaPancakes: I try running with LO in the BOB. It works great during the summer but so hard in the winter when it gets dark early. Oh and rainy days, it's always something.

@Corduroy: Soo true. LO has a stomach bug and the past few days has been rough. How long has your LO been in daycare? It does get better.

@pregnantbee: hahahah.. that's me too.. I never understood people who met men at the gym, I do not look sexy working out...

@littlek: The only thing I can think is that they go to "workout" but are really there to meet guys? And really low resistance and no incline on machines??

@pregnantbee: That's like the women that wear heels, makeup and jewelry to the pool... huh?
True story, I was at the gym and this lady was working ou

True story, I was at the gym and this lady was working out in workout clothes and heels.. yes heels..

@littlek: how in the heck do you do that??
I don't:( R is asleep by 7 so if DH is home then I could go to the gym but he travels for work. So I try and go Sat mornings. I need to be better about doing something at home once she goes to bed. I just don't know what when we don't have equipment.

never. my day doesn't end until 8pm and then i have to feed and clean myself and be in bed by 10pm. i don't have time or energy or desire to exercise right now.

Lately? In my mind I am the running/pilates/strength training queen . . . and I am looking F-I-N-E fine(!) if I do say so mahselfs!
But really I try to sneak it in after LO goes to bed . . . but my work load has quadrupled in the last 10 days and now I am doing work after bedtime (or trying to get some sleep!).

@littlek: LO has been at daycare almost two months. Thanks for saying it gets better. I feel like I need to hear that hourly now to keep myself going.
It's amazing how much enthusiasm I have the the gym when I'm too sick to go.

@Corduroy: LO has been in daycare for about 10 months and their immunity does improve. The way I think about it I'd rather DS get sick now rather than when he starts school and attendance is important. Hang in there!

@littlek: can DH do bathtime while you work out?
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@locavore_mama: if if gives you any idea it's 10:30 pm and he's still at work.. This is common.. He normally works till about 11 pm or 1 am.

I work in NY, but live on the jersey shore - which translates to about 1 hour and 45 min commute each way (on a regular day). I've been slacking so bad about working out when i come home from work, that last month I joined the corporate gym across the street from my office, and have been working out in the morning before work. This does mean I get up earlier than I normally do (now i have to wake up around 4:45am) but it feels so much better to have it done and over with early in the day. It does take a lot of planning, I have to pack everything the night before and lay everything out so i can just wake up, put on my workout clothes and leave. But it's been worth it!
**EDIT** I just realized this was for WOHM - trust me I don't think I'll have time for this come April next year, since I'm out of the house so much as it is, so I'll have to figure something else out!

4:30 am, ugh. Lately DS has been up at that time anyway so we just get up and he watches me while I sweat my butt off.

@littlek: Goooood night that's a crazy work schedule! DH and I used to regularly work until 9 or 9:30 p.m., so not quite that late. That's a lot for both of you to manage individually. (((hugs)))

I used to go to the gym at 3, and then go home for the day, but I haven't been in 2 months! Ridiculous!

@pregnantbee, I also get a super red tomatoey face and super sweaty. I can rinse off super fast but then I blast the AC on my face and put my hair up in a french braid and use a little dry shampoo if i'm desperate.
@Petunia, ha, we've had a few days where the baby wakes up at 4:30 and I plop her in her jumper and she watches me work out....and every now and then i reach over and pat her head and give her some attention :). It's the Sweaty Mommy Show

i have to say, this thread is scaring me! i'm the kind of person that has always needed to get some form of exercise in every day or i seem to lack focus at work and just not have as much energy...but i know it will be nearly impossible to keep up with it once the baby comes! i don't have to leave for work until 8:30, so i go in the mornings now, but i know that will be tough to fit in once i am negotiating feedings/pumping/etc. I'm hoping i can still fit in at least a 20-30 min workout each morning to get my body moving, but we'll see how that goes

thankfully DS is a good sleeper and goes down for the night at 730. i always work out after that or later in the night after i've had dinner/ran errands/etc. i don't go to bed until midnight tho. (work out at home with dvds or run on treadmill)
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
@littlek: bummer! Does he just work a lot of OT? 3 nights a week DH works till 9pm and that's rough.
GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts
I'm weird I guess, and I get up at 4:15 to go workout before DD and DH are awake. Some days I just jog around the neighborhood and some days I go to the gym or boot camp. It just depends on how I fee.

@babyboecksmom, the 5am class at my gym is always full of early risers
GOLD / squash / 13576 posts
@locavore_mama: he usually works in the office till at least 9 p.m. sometimes midnight. This is at least better than his last job where he was gone for 3 months at a time.
@MsLipGloss: Yep, it's crazy. I feel like a single mother a lot.
@BabyBoecksMom: Do you go to bed early?
@blackbird: I'd love to go to a 5:30 a.m. class but DH leaves for work and no one is there to watch LO but me.
I went running yesterday, only 30 minutes but it felt better than the nothing I did the week before.

@littlek: I'm in bed between 9 and 10... sometimes a little earlier these days w/ the 1st trimester fatigue
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@littleK, yeah same problem here. Dh starts work at 6am so unless it's a 4:30-5:30am class (HA, yeah right!), it ain't happening. What about some home videos?
