This happened with Wagon Jr. too!!

My stubborn little girl just will NOT say mama. I ask her at least 20 times a day! For a while I just chalked it up to her not being able to say or repeat the syllable "ma", even though I've heard it from her before. But lately she has been saying it when she wants/needs me!! If I walk away I hear "mama, mama, mamahhhhhh" melting into crying. If I run back and ask her "did you say mama???" She stops crying immediately and says "baba!"

I was letting her have some ice cream the other day and to ask for more she kept saying "mama"... and when I said "mama??" she patted my leg several times as if to say "this is mama". But again... when I asked her "say mama??" she immediately said "baba!"

And this morning when Wagon Sr. was buckling her into her carseat, she spied me across the car putting the bags in and she actually said "mommy"! (Wagon Jr. calls me that)

This past weekend we had many conversations that all went like this:

Me: mama?
Her: baba!
Me: no, not baba, mama!
Her: baba! baba!
Me: Can't you just say mama, just once??
Her: ba! baba! ba! baba!
Me: sigh...

Anyone else's stubborn little one refuse to acknowledge you as mama?????
