Prego, pregs, preggers, preggie, etc. No. Just..... NO.
Also, YOLO. The term YOLO makes me bristle. heh.

@grizz: I guess you didn't do a Prego sauce pregnancy announcement? hahahha!
bananas / 9899 posts
Boob monster? I've never heard that before but I do find that cringe-worthy.
I really dislike "totes" instead of "totally".

amazeballs ( and i used to say this )
feels.... ( just say feelings )
adorbs... ( just say adorable )
i also don't like the p-word and c-word for vagina
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@MsLipGloss: purse! @mrsjyw: Amazeballs! hahaha
nectarine / 2115 posts
Totes, cray-cray, derp, all versions of Prego/ preggers...
Using "hashtag" in day to day conversation! Just DONT!
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@grizz: I say preggo all the time. Oops! haha, but I'm not a fan of YOLO as a response either. I roll my eyes when I hear someone say it. Really????
I don't like dick or when ppl say "f*ck" in reference to DTD. Sounds so dirty and inappropriate.

I hate hate hate hate hate when people use the word "retarded". As someone who has a brother with Downs, it makes me ragey, and I instantly lose respect for the person.

@septca - moist and panties.
See you in toledo...

@grizz: Yes on every variation of preggo. HATE when people use that!

Moist.
YOLO.
Nomnom.
Panties.
"All the feels."
Using "literally" when you're not speaking about something that is "literal."
And yeah, all the iterations of "preggo," etc...

panties (for adults) - I'm a grown adult, I wear underwear not panties.

moist

@PermaStudent: OOOOOH, yes, THIS. And "gay" when not speaking about an actually gay individual. And Oriental when speaking about a person. Rugs are Oriental, people are Asian.

I hate amazeballs, totes, cray-cray and all those, but I kinda secretly love them too.
I really hate the word "proactive" because I had a horrible manager once who kept telling me I needed to be more proactive, even though she never gave me any work. And never did any work herself. Basically she used the word to say that I should read her mind to see what I could do, and do it, before she could think of it. At least it taught me how to work independently without a manager to keep me accountable...!!
grapefruit / 4089 posts
@littlebug: Yes! Gay is a terrible one too when used incorrectly. People sound trashy and unintelligent when they use words like that so inappropriately! Grrrrr.
pomegranate / 3980 posts
I hate moist, supper, using the word pop for soda, yolo, adorbs... there's probably more but I also hate when people use "boys will be boys" as an excuse for their children being disrespectful hooligans.
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
I am so glad I am not the only one who cannot handle "moist."

Hubby/wifey
@littlebug: YES to the literally thing. The other day I overheard someone say "I literally laughed my butt off." REALLY?
pomegranate / 3980 posts
@tinyperson: I'm from California and moved to northern Idaho! And most of dh's family is from Canada, he says those words purposefully because he knows I hate it.
honeydew / 7504 posts
@whenoceansrise: Oooh, yes. Hubby doesn't bother me so much, but wifey makes me cringe, for sure. It seems so....degrading.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
I don't like the word thick. Like, the pronunciation of thick, is thick
papaya / 10570 posts
@rahlyrah: That is horrific!!! Ugh!
@mrsrain: AGH!! DH says derp all the time! It drives me mad!
@MsLipGloss: Nookie??! Oh lordy, that's such a horrible word!!
@rachiecakes: I say nom nom all the time!!
@autumnlove: Boob monster!! Yuk!!
Words that make me cringe:
- Clunge (for lady bits)
- Minge (for lady bits)
- Vajazzle (as in decorative sparklies put on your lady bits)
- Panini (because it's food but it sounds like lady bits)
Man, I hate lady bits!
Also:
- Pube
- Saying "babby" (instead of baby - I think it's a regional thing)
- When people say dot com after something.
- Pop (for soft drinks)
- Flaccid
.... there are probably more!!
blogger / wonderful cherry / 21616 posts
@littlebug: YES. I want to tell people that literally does not mean "really". "I literally did this today" that's not the proper use of literal.
papaya / 10570 posts
Oh, I've thought of another! Scrote! Like, a shortened version of scrotum, to refer to something, usually a child that is particularly feral:
"I would have slept all night but that little scrote next door woke me up".
Scrote. Yuk.
hostess / cantaloupe / 6486 posts
@rahlyrah: agree! DH & MIL say it (often in reference to me breastfeeding) & it drives me absolutely crazy!

@LuLu Mom: Ew, your whole list! ::gag::
I also hate the misused word 'literally'. It *literally* makes me cringe
I think it's done being a thing now, but after Pitch Perfect came out, I shuddered every time someone said 'Aca-awesome', or 'aca'-anything. No no no noooo.
honeydew / 7091 posts
@Cherrybee: HAHA - I have never heard that one! ETA: Saw your first list, laughing at almost all your words!
