It is for me! I prefer 9am start time.
I am on my way to work early today for a 8am meeting but this meeting is pretty important and the only time everyone was available. I could have called in but I decided to go in early today.

That's too early for me. Even if I had a meeting at 7:00am I would still need to stay at work until 5:30pm anyway, so all that would mean is more time working.

I need time with my girls so I don't open my meeting schedule until 9 am.

I usually arrive at 7am so I need time to get a cup of coffee before I have to participate so 7:30am is my preferred meeting start time.

I start at 6:30am so a 7am meeting happens pretty frequently for me!

Too early. I'm usually getting LO to daycare around 7:15am or so. I've taken 8am phone calls at home, then go into work after it.

Unless absolutely necessary, I think it's a little rude to schedule a meeting to start before 9am... Most people are still settling into the day before that. Of course that goes out the window when a client is involved in the meeting.
But I'm in no way a morning person

7am is way too early considering that's usually when I'm in the shower! I get to work at 8:30 and don't think I could pull off an 8:30 meeting!

I'd have a revolt and no attendees if I schedule any meetings for 7am. At my last job we all used to complain endlessly about our monthly 8am meetings with the India team. Most people in a software company aren't in until 9 or later, so your best bets are 10am+.

Too early. At 7 am, I'd have to get dressed and leave in the dark.

@runnerd: Some of it depends upon if clients or callers are in another country where that's their afternoon.

It's too early for me generally but I have had meetings at that time frequently if it is the only time the client is available but I think that has to do with the nature of my job

@LovelyPlum: Coffee and some sort of pastry is a MUST for early meetings! Especially on a Monday or Friday! haha

Too early! I'm not usually willing to talk to people (other than DH) before 8am.

@cascademom: good point... I never have to deal with international time differences

@runnerd: Ahh, for a couple of years, I had a phone call with callers from Sweden, Germany, and France. So, I'm accustomed to it.

We have monthly staff meetings and they're at 7am. It's not so bad since it's so infrequently... but they recently transferred me to a new dept so the staff meeting is now in the afternoons... on a day I don't work
nectarine / 2504 posts
Nah, that'd work for me. I'm usually in by 6:45 so that would give me 15 minutes to get settled, check my email, and make a cup of tea.

Generally, too early. Every once in awhile, we have teleconferences with people in other time zones and have to schedule them really early, but when that happens I can call in from home. Thank goodness.

That is way too early! But I'm often out my door by 5:55 am for work so.... But at least I'm not having to interact with people at that time.
GOLD / pomelo / 5737 posts
Pre-baby I would have been ok with it. I once had to foot a staff meeting at 5 or 530am, when the overnight shift got off!

I get to work at 7:30am everyday and I'm good to go as soon as I arrive.

Woah 7am is way too early! That would never fly around here! I think the earliest would be 9am in my department.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
Way too early for me! I think meetings should never start earlier than 9am and never start after 4pm! On Fridays, no meetings should start after noon. It's Friday guys!! Come on now! LOL!

I wish it was too early! But I teach high school, so 7 am is pretty normal for me.

Only b/c daycare doesn't open until 7am. I blocked off my 6-730am time slot.
I do have a weekly meeting at 7:30, no big deal, though.

@bluestriped bee: That's early. Is a foreign location involved? I know DH had weird times for meetings based on who it is with. When DH has meetings with the London office they are always early.

Waaaay to early. I try to get in at 8, but most the time it ends up being 9.

@littlek: No, it's a quick meeting with a construction contractor, like probably 15 minutes tops. I think in construction they usually work earlier. I'm going to push back on them. It's kinda ridiculous considering it's a quick meeting. It's probably going to be a $5k job, so I would think they can meet me later. It's just crazy that they thought 7am is normal request for them.
I told them that I was available at anytime that day and they came back and told me they could do 7am. I'm thinking... no!

I'm usually in at 7:45, but we have a weekly meeting that starts at 6:45. It's torturous and way too early. I loathe them (luckily my husband drops off the baby those days, because daycare isn't open until 6:30!)

I'm at work starting my day at 5:30 am! I never see the light of day before work

I could do it, but knowing my luck, I'd be running late that day.

OMG too early. I'm not an early bird at all! I love starting work at 9 or 9:30.
clementine / 984 posts
Yikes! I'd prefer to go in at 9:00 am and stay for a 6:30 or 7:00pm meeting. Not an early bird.
