Before I returned to work I was dead set that I did NOT want to work (but I had to return anyways).
Almost 2 weeks back at work and it's SO hectic, but I think I'm coming around to thinking that working isn't so bad. Especially when I see my paycheck!

Same here. On those super fussy days or after a long weekend at home, I'm very happy to go to work!

I'm still in the "not sure" how I feel category, but it is definitely better than it was last week. I'm also lucky that I am home with him an extra day (Mondays) so I do get a good amount of time with him.

Yes, I love having a part of my life separate from being the wife/mommy and the paycheck is extremely helpful to our family.

Nope, not glad. But I don't want to be a full-time SAHM mom, which is why I'm looking for part-time jobs in my field. It sometimes feels selfish and a bit crazy to want to downsize our finances so I can spend more time with my baby, especially living in NYC, but my emotional health is greatly suffering right now.
I've been back at work for 3.5 months and it's not getting any better for me

The 4 day work week is great - but I took a 25% paycut for it. BUT I was on unpaid leave for awhile before I returned to work so it seems like we are rich compared to getting no paycheck for 3 months!

I'm glad I work. I like being able to shop whenever wherever I want because of an extra income. I also like having projects and goals other than the ones inside my home.
I don't know if I would feel them same if DH wasn't at home with DS during the day though.

@winniebee: Wow, I would love a 4 day week but not sure if I could do it for a 25% cut.
I would love to try to do 30 hours in the office and 10 (or more) at home to make up for the difference. A lot of times, I do work from home anyways!

I love that we have 2 incomes, but otherwise, no. I wish I could stay at home with LO. I'v been back to work for 5 months now, and there are days when I still struggle with leaving her, and being away for so long.

Yes for now I am really happy to work. It provides some "me" time. My ideal schedule is working around 85%, where I get one day off to take care of things for the family like grocery shopping. I am quickly approaching a time where I need to make some decisions though. The thought of not being able to pick DD up from school and sending her to after school care AFTER a full day of school is sad to me. I know many moms do it, I just feel sad about it.

I have complicated feelings. DH is a SAHD. I'm glad one of us can be home with DD. I don't work the same hours every day but generally work the same schedule every week. I like that I can provide for our family, but it is very stressful that we are dependent on just my income to pay our bills. I enjoy what I do, but since I work with kids, it just reminds me of how much I miss my daughter. So it's hard. She's about to turn 5 months, so I've not been back to work for very long either.

I was a SAHM for 18 months and really really hated it. Now that I'm a working mom (4 days a week) to 2 kids, I LOVE working. And it makes me appreciate the time I spend with my kids. I actually look forward to taking care of them rather than dreading it every day.

It's nice to see so many have a positive feeling about being working moms! I never thought I'd want to be a SAHM, but now that I'm pregnant, I keep thinking how much easier it would be if I could stay home. We both work but I am the primary income so me staying home would not be an option, and I think that part of it is maybe what gets me right now - not having a choice.

Yes, I am glad I work full time but I do get to work from home 4 days a week and only head into the office once a week. It really does make a big difference not having to commute everyday.

While I'm extremely thankful for my job, I wish I could be a SAHM once LO is here. He's not even here yet and I can't stand the thought of leaving him. We will never, seriously, NEVER, be able to afford it.

Yes, I'm so grateful I am back at work. I love LO but I also need time away from him. I don't think I can ever be a SAHM.

Yes, I love it! It gives me some much needed "me" time, I get to take home a paycheck, and like some others have mentioned... it makes me appreciate and cherish the time spent with DD all the more when I'm with her. And weekends feel like weekends instead of one long, neverending cycle week after week.
