That's cute! I work in an office of 4, and I was just going to go into my boss's office and tell him. Maybe I should do something a little more creative!

I was a lifeguard and horribly ill so I had to tell my co-workers right off. I was constantly having to run off the pool deck to puke or lie down, so it kind of needed an explanation. Good times.

@mrsjyw: Aww, that's cute! I like the bagel or cupcakes idea. Maybe cookies? I personally wouldn't announce it because I wouldn't want the attention. (I do work with about 30 people in my department and 150 in the whole building.) Although, it would avoid that awkward conversations where coworkers are unsure if you are pregnant or just gaining weight. Which I have been that employee that was unsure, so instead of saying something, I didn't say anything at all. Which might have been even more rude.

Also, I would probably wait as long as possible. Like when I start showing.

I really like your idea of bringing bagels with a note. I told my boss and then my coworkers in my department. Then the news just seemed to travel. One of my coworkers actually told me I should've brought something in with a note. I kind of wish I would've done that, but oh well. I think when we find out the gender I'll bring in something to announce it.

I wore a shirt that said "I love my bump." One lady put it together easy b/c I used the bathroom a lot.lol

Maybe you could bring hot dogs or hamburgers in... but without the buns. Then when someone asks, where the buns are? You could point to your belly or you could say you don't know where the buns are but you do know there is a bun in this oven! LOL. I just made that up!

I told my boss, a few others I'm close with and then spilled it at our weekly company meeting. I told at 12 weeks. We only have 15 people at our company so, company meetings aren't huge.

I work in a separate location from a lot of my coworkers including my boss, so when my boss came to visit our site when I was about 10 weeks along I took the opportunity to tell her in person, but told her I wanted to keep it quiet for another month. Then I told the rest of my team at around 14 weeks - we have a weekly phone call so I waited until we had gotten all the business stuff out of the way and at the end of the call just said "Oh, I have one more thing I wanted to tell everyone, I'm pregnant, due in June." I felt so awkward about announcing it but that way pretty much everyone I work closely with found out at the same time.

I told my immediate supervisor very early on because I was very sick and also had a lot of doctor appointments and didn’t want him to think I had become a flakey worker.

About a month later, I told my co-workers (less than 10 in my department) each individually in person, and word of mouth just spread around the company as a whole after that.

I kept it super-low key. Ours is a workplace of 100s if not more... I picked and chose who I told and asked each person I told to keep it to themselves.

At my old office I totally would have done the baked goods thing! They were a really fun, supportive (and okay... girly) crowd. At my current job, I would probably not do something as cutesy, but I might send a fun email.
