Just realiZed almost all of my good friends are sahms. I can count on less than one hand who is working and married and has a little one like me. I have only a few other friends with no kids yet. It kinda skews perspective when discussing challenges. It seems the sahms are the ones who have more time and efforts to stay in touch. What is your social circle like? Do you find any interesting observations with the differences between sahm and working mom friends?

I am a working mom and most of my friends are working moms. In fact, I find that my SAHM mom friends aren't as good as keeping touch! That is interesting that we have this opposite experience. I have been blown off by SAHM mom friends a lot more often and they seem less likely to want to spend time away from their kids.

I agree with @Andrea. I have a couple of stay at home mom friends and they are both horrible at keeping in touch. Neither of them use the computer that much and don't respond to emails all that often. My working mom friend is almost immediately responsive if she isn't at home. If she's at home, she responds quicker than my SAHM friends.
@808love: Do you have any friends who are working moms? It sounds like all of your friends either don't have kids yet and are working or are stay at home moms.

I have a hard time keeping in touch as a working mom. I am rushing around a lot either hustling to be productive or engage with my LO. So at night I don't want to call too late. I am just too tired. The only friends i manage to see are the sahms whose schedule is wide open. Maybe I need to make more of an effort to preserve the working mom friends. -
I'm not a mom, but my friend who is a SAHM in an affluent neighborhood is ONLY friends with the other SAHMs, and has never even met any of the working moms or their kids in their neighborhood. There is clearly some segregation going on in their circle!
